I would give this app five starts but it's missing vocabulary words' categories. For example, it doesn't list if the vocabulary word is a "Noun", "Verb" , " conjunction" etc. Also there aren't any example sentences to see the usage; this app is only good when in a conversation and don't understand a word. One can quickly check the word to understand what the other side just said.

This is a well organized dictionary and it's obvious a lot of work and thought went into it. Lots of clear display options greatly assist learning written Chinese, which is a highly visual written language. The program readily accepts Chinese characters, pinyin, or English. Audio pronunciation is also included and is accurate. The exceptional advantage to all these features is that they are all available within the program; no online access is required. Well done.

This app beats all others. My wife is from China and both of us use this app in preference to her Chinese apps and over the apps which I previously used. The app contains so many practical features such as: - audio pronunciation - pinyin & Chinese characters - flash cards Finally, the vocabulary is huge. Don't waste your money on any other app. Don't waste your time on other freebies. (After several years of use, I actually paid for this one!)
