Not impressed

I love Korg But this is 20 bucks I’d like to get back it’s just a hip-hop machine there’s no style to it there’s no other means of expression except EDM and hip-hop so if that’s your thing go forward. I’m more of an ambient guy myself And there’s nothing gentle or soft or pleasant about this app. It’s really good at giving you I headache.

Useful for Me

I got this because I was looking for some deep bass sounds to insert into my live show. The bass sounds ended up being okayish, but there are enough sounds in here that there's a strong chance everyone will find some that they like. I like several of the Leads, the Acoustics --while not sounding especially acoustic-- do sound interesting, and there are a bunch of the sound effects ones that I really like. Would be great if future versions were more customizable and had MIDI, but I still have to say it was well worth the price.

We need more sound packs, common now, chop chop.

Seriously, it’s been too long, when are you adding more?

Pretty cool w/small drawback

Awesome app. Has more functionality than actual kaossilators. I like having 5 record banks but you cannot overdub on each of them. They just record the events that you do on the pad (like moving your finger across m, etc). Each bank can have a sound and changing the sound will actually change the recording, which felt weird at first but after playing it a bit it became natural since there are many banks. I'm not sure if there is an arpeggiator in this thing. The only problem I have with the app is that I cannot share to other apps (say WhatsApp). You can only share to dropbox, soundcloud, audiocopy (needs to be accessed on computer through itunes), and listing. If it could share to other apps the straight .wav it would be cool.

Fun

Super fun and easy to use. Enjoy it a lot. Easy to lose a ton of time just messing around with beats, sounds, and different combinations of patterns.

Better than the real thing

I had the actual kaossilator for about 6 months (lost it). I really prefer this one. Much easier to navigate. I got it half price. I probably would not have paid full price (though much cheaper than the real McCoy). This is really a toy. In the hands of a real musician, I am sure it would be great. I feel like Sufjan Stevens was using something like this on Age of Adz. I do wish they had volume controls on each channel. I have plugged in into an amp and tried to be cool.

I owned an original Kaossilator, which I love. This app is very similar to the idea of the original, yet expands on it by allowing longer looping, allowing you to create and view your recordings, then mix them in a grid pattern similar to session view in Ableton, and allows you to erase any one piece of the song at a time rather than only being able to layer over your last recording with no option of returning, as was the case with the hardware. This app is easy to use for anyone... Just set a key and scale, touch your finger to the pad and go. I've made cool songs with my 6 (now7) yr old niece. The only thing I prefer about the original are SOME of the sounds. That said, this incorporates cool sounds as well and has downloadable soundpacks I believe. Great app for simple beat construction, quickly recording an idea, or just for fun. Would recommend.

Really? This is just another 'music toy'

Lost in Space Studips

Shame on me for not reading the description before hitting the 'buy' button. The original effect box has been a go too for creative sound mangling, so my intent was to use it in the fx chain within audiobus. Wrong. If you want a cute little edm tune maker have fun. Serious musicians may want to pass on this one.

Was good for a time...

...but there is no way to import sounds. And the look needs a refresh. Still looks like iOS 5/6. Really needs an optional scale grid, too and some more expansion packs. It's been more than a year!

Thumbs up
