Menus need to be identified

There are a number of good features, but names or labels should be shown on the various menu links. Having to touch each arrow link just to find out what it is is confusing and wastes time.

As someone fairly new to the photography hobby, I found this program helpful in learning about what exists in Kodak's product line. It's given me some ideas of what to expect from each film as I've experimented shooting them. This new version has a few more changes other than what is listed in the release notes. It's now a universal app with an iPad-native user interface. Information about BW400CN has also been removed, following its discontinuation not too long ago. It's nice to see that Kodak/Alaris is starting to make some progress on updating their public presence. In addition to this app, their website has also gotten a facelift recently. Some features I'd like to see in future versions of this app: - More sample photos per film type, particularly for black and white films. The app explains that contrast and other elements are "adjustable with process" - I'd love to see some example results from different exposure/development techniques. - The technical publications for each film are downloaded each time they are viewed (and still link to old versions). Can these simply be embedded in the app? It would be nice to be able to read them offline, and not use up mobile data to read them when traveling. - More films, current and past. In the "current" column, it would be nice to see info about Gold 200, Ultramax 400, and ColorPlus 200. While these aren't "professional" films, there may be certain situations where they provide just the right kind of look desired, so it would be helpful to see them in context with the other films. In the "past" column, it would be nice to see detailed information about some of the more recently discontinued films (which can still be found in small quantities), like the aforementioned BW400CN, TMZ3200, etc. Going further into the past with a few significant highlights would provide a nice bit of history, just like the section on film sizes. - Info on darkroom products and supplies. There's a whole darkroom timer function, but no info about darkroom products.

First of all, anything that uses Location Services crashes the application. This eliminates 90% of its usefulness. The two biggest features are where to buy and where to develop film. Don't work! The map appears, but the places of interest are not marked on the map. What's the point of having a map, if what you're trying to find isn't on it? You have to dig around to find the list of shops. Don't try to scroll that list! Boom! Crash! Dead! The sun calculator is also worthless. Apparently all it's good for is sunrise and sunset, and even that doesn't work. It's telling me that sunrise today was at 8:49 AM and sunset is at 11:19 PM. Those are off by two or three hours. Oh, it's a time zone issue, I hear you say! Well I have the app configured to set the time zone automatically. Oh! That's another use of Location Services! THAT'S why that function doesn't work! The Film Formats feature is somewhat useful. It tells you what is currently in Kodak's lineup. It's hard to keep track of that these days, since there has been such a contraction since the glory days. They don't tell you much about the films, so it's really only good as a list of available films and a short description. The home darkroom feature looks useful for beginners. You could certainly start here. However, if you are going to do home developing, you really should get one of the dedicated home developing apps.

Thanks for keeping this app up to date! It works well and I love being able to access the technical publications as well as the scrollable information. Great sample images, but perhaps a few more could be included. Darkroom processing tutorial is a nice touch.

This app is great for film photographers and allows you to locate nearby locations for buying and processing film. As well as finding the right film.

Love that they're doing things for film shooters!

Though the film purchase and development site finder does not show a useful or remotely complete listing of photo labs, the other features, particularly the darkroom assistant are useful and very usable. A pleasant surprise to find this in the App Store.

This app says it will be able to help by using the sun calculator and it will automatically determine your sunrise but it fails in Epic proportions! It says the sunrise will rise at 723 am. I'm in Phoenix and it's summertime, the sun is up @ 5 a.m. You can't change it. Yes, it has access to my location. When trying to find a location to buy film, on multiple occasions their map is wrong. How do you NOT know where you sell film? If you can't do it right when you release it, don't release it yet!
