The app does what it says, gives you access to Wi-Fi hotspots. Does not make it any easier to connect to partner hotspots like 7-eleven or FamilyMart. You still need to go to setting, select that HotSpot and log in on their page. Greatest benefit on Metro Statins but does not switch between between stations so you have to refresh at every stop.

Does the login for you (read the directions). Connect to a wifi point, switch to the app, and hit the "connect" button and it'll log you into that access point. Keeps you logged in across subway stations and other locations. I would have been lost in Tokyo / Japan without it.
After getting used the process it is very handy

I does the registration process for you once you connect to free wifi whitens very helpful since some are in Japanese. Auto connect to free wifi would be amazing!

You do have to create an account. It seems the Wi-Fi providers want usage stats? That's fair - they're providing a free service. They didn't even verify my email address - they just went ahead and activated the service. I found many Wi-Fi hotspots in Japan, but without this app, they were of no use. Apparently the app has partnered with many of the Wi-Fi hotspots and the app is required to "authenticate" you. Good app.

It's easier to find and connect to free wifis than this worthless piece of crap. Please don't waste your time with this.

I'll be in Japan in a few days so I have my hopes up for this app since public wifi was so confusing to use over there. I did pick up a lot of seemingly public wifi signals but they all sent me to some kind of authentication page...which was so confusing and I have not succeeded to actually get on to internet. One exception was FamilyMart wifi but they had some restriction like you can't be on it for more than 10min or no more than 1hr per day or something like that. Not being in Japan yet all I could do was to check on map from this app to see wifi spots: it seems like there are plenty of wifi at random places almost everywhere in Japan. I believe the easiest spot to find wifi hotspot with this app is any major public facility like train stations(that you'll find every 2miles all over any major metropolitan areas of Japan. I'll update my review while I'm there. Just one concern: what if there's an update for the app that require me to be on the net, BUT if I can't get on the net BECAUSE I haven't updated the app? That kind of catch22 situation is so classic I'm afraid I'll experience with this app? 一つ心配なのが、アップデートしなければネットに繋がらず、アップデートしていない為にネット繋げられないという「三すくみ」状態となる事です。

I used this app for TWICE when i visited Japan. And this app couldnt catch wifi signal at all. All you need is get cheap SIM! you will be fully enjoy Japan without irritation by this useless wifi finder.
