Great game, simple storyline, controls are super responsive. Would like to see a options menu at the main menu, b/c why not right?

Fun game. Would be great on a NES console. It's better than most of the "real" NES games back in the day. I hate touch controls but this is better than most. I think you need to be at least 35 years old to get most of the in game jokes. Unfortunately that might alienate some of the newer gamers out there. Overall, good, fun game. We'll worth the price point.

I'm re-reviewing this one because I wound up reinstalling it on my 6S with iOS 9.3, and it worked. Without being updated since 2012... I was kind of surprised. Anyway... this is one of my absolute favorite metroidvania titles availabe in the AppStore. It's crazy that this was made by one guy. ONE GUY. He was also very responsive back when he first released it, it went through a few updates tweaking and changing some things... It's a shame it didn't sell well, because seeing an Episode 2 would have been AWESOME. But... I do want to say that even though this is just 'Episode 1' - you could very well spend over a couple hours completing it, especially if you want to find all 5 secret rooms. It usually takes me about 4 hours to run through it all. No IAP, MFI support... it's incredibly easy to recommend this one to fans of the genre.

I love metroidvania games like this with new paths from earlier areas after you earn new abilities. :) And this is a good one. And the story and characters are interesting too. I would love to see additional episodes, for the gameplay and also to see more of the story play out. This episode includes hours of play, with a large map to explore.
