This "iWavit Sony" app will turn your iPhone (or iPod touch and iPad) into a virtual metaphor of a real IR remote for controlling new Sony LCD TVs, or more specifically TV model Bravia XBR52HX909 and related models. The remote control is model Sony RM-YD038.

This remote should be very familiar to Sony owners. The button layout is similar to the remote that ships with many Sony LCD TVs. Swipe left-right to flip your Virtual 3D Remote between 4 different screens (3D facets) with all the buttons.

There are a few notable benefits of the iWavit Virtual Remotes over traditional physical Remotes:

1. Virtual Remotes reduce living room clutter.
You can have a large diverse collection of remotes in one easy to find location - your iPhone.

2. The buttons are large and easy to hit.
By creating multiple screens for each remote, you can have large buttons without requiring a large bulky remote.

3. The remote is well lit.
With the iPhone lit touchscreen there is no need to turn on the lights to adjust the volume or change channel.

4. Never lose your remote.
It does not matter which remote it is. It is all in your iPhone. If you should lose it you just call the phone.

If you have the optional "iWavit Premium" or BLUETOOTH Smart iWavit Blast! products, then they come with a USB Dongle & IR Lightbar. With these you will also be able to blast your IR commands from the IR Lightbar instead of from the iWavit Attachment & iPhone. You do this by tapping the lower right icon on the front screen and selecting "Blast from USB dongle". The iPhone will then send all subsequent signals wirelessly to the USB dongle (plugged into any powered USB) which in turn will control the IR lightbar to emit a very strong blast from its 6 Infrared LEDs. You can be up to 100 meters away from the USB dongle. Now you no longer need to point your iPhone directly at the device you wish to control.

In the lower left of the front screen, there is "Home" icon. Tap this to launch the "iWavit Flow" app (if it is installed). This app provides for convenient cover-flow browsing of all your iWavit remotes, as well as all iWavit apps available on the Apple App Store.

The "iWavit Sony" app is part of a family of iWavit Virtual Remotes for Major-Brand electronic devices, and PCs and Macs. For those who wish to create their own custom Remote Controls, we have created the Ultimate Remote Control app called Tabula Rasa for the iPhone and iPod touch, and Tabula Rasa HD for the iPad.

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great

It's supposed to be upside down. The hardware piece goes in the port on the bottom of your iPhone and has to be pointed at the tv when you send a command, so the app is upside down.

I got this app for my Sony TV & it did not work. It was also upside down so annoying. I would not recommend this app.

Joke

So let me get this right, I spend yet another $50 for a virtual remote like the real one that I already own - just so can plug a lame physical attachment into the bottom of my Apple device? And that device is sure to eventually fall out and find its way under the couch. That's pretty dumb. I guess you'd have to be a pretty devoted remote user to want this. No personal offense, but if you bought this, you got played.
