The inTuna guitar tuner includes both a large frequency meter and a precise pitch strobe window. You can let inTuna auto-select the guitar string being tuned, or touch the Lock icon to lock tuning to a selected string. A 6 string tuning indicator indicates the string which has been selected for pitch measurement. Above the tuning indicator is a unique waterfall waveform display within a Strobe window to assist with accurate fine tuning. Configuration options include support for 8 popular guitar tunings and a Concert-A440 frequency adjustment.
Also, please take a look in the iOS App store for HotPaw Sing-inTuna, a "vocal tuner", and Music Spectrograph for sound visualization and music transcription.
Tuning a guitar isn't easy in my opinion and this application doesn't help. I have attempted to tune mine and the app continues to freeze on me. It jumps around from string to string and doesn't allow me, as far as I am concerned, to pick which string I am tuning within the app. If it was improved, I would greatly appreciate it.
Worked great for two days. Now it shuts down after 5 seconds. No love from email attemps etc. Be wary. I feel my money has been wasted.
This is a very accurate tuner. I don’t really use the course tuner part as much as the strobe at the top. I own a Peterson Strobe tuner and have checked the accuracy of this application against my Peterson and was very impressed. It does have problems in high noise areas, but all tuners do. I manually select the string if it’s having problems. BTW Peterson Strobe $135 so $5 is well worth it.
I was cleaning up my apartment today, when I all of a sudden had an itch to play my guitar which had been lying in a corner for about a year. I cleaned it and re-strung it, and then realized I had no tuner. (The last tuner I had was a windows app called guitar tuner, on a computer I hadn't booted in years). So, I decided to download an iPhone tuner app. I first downloaded another tuner app before getting this one, and couldn't figure how the heck to use it. Then, I got this one, and within about a minute, I had my guitar perfectly tuned. The interface is very simple and intuitive, and there are alternate guitar tunings available, although, I probably won't be using those any time soon. The only comment I have to the developer is that they should make the app force the iPhone into an always on state, as currently, the iPhone screen dims every 20 seconds, requiring a tap on the screen to un-dim. Otherwise, a great app well worth a few bucks. Thank you!
You will pay over 80 dollars in astore for a tuner this good. Produces remarkable results. Good to take to the guitar store when testing the tones of new guitars as well. It is my favorite and most used application.
Don't get this program for the 1st model iPhone. The strobe section blinks on and off in about 1/2 second intervals. I tried contacting tech support, but they didn't provide much help. I tried reinstalling the program, but it didn't resolve the problem. However, it did work correctly with my son's newest model iPhone 3G. I recommend not getting this program until they resolve this blinking problem I downloaded the update that suppose to fix the problem, and it now works properly; the strobe section doesn't blink anymore. Thanks for correcting the problem Hotpaw.
Not good. I've only had it a little while and I already want my money back. Just do yourself a favor and get a real tuner.
