No Subscription Needed?

The Philadelphia Inquirer is one of the last, great local papers in America. I am a proud subscriber to the digital edition of their publication and read it daily. I am glad to see this app, which makes the paper easier to navigate and read, but it does not ask me to login like the Inquirer.com website does. Is this app and all of its content free? Why am I paying to subscribe, and subsidize others reading for free when I can cancel and still enjoy the app? I don’t want to see the Inky fail which is why I am a subscriber, but allowing for free riders is also not a sustainable business model.

Same

Same stories try something new already. As bad as home delivery which is the worst paper in the universe

Used to be five stars

Sawdust & Noise

The previous version had an ad at the end of every article. Fine. A newspaper generates its revenue by selling ad space. However, the current version sticks an ad in after every paragraph of every article. If a print paper did that, no one would bother to read it. Worse, content scrolling locks up until the next paragraph's ad loads, even if it is the same ad over and over, which it usually is. As with too many appa, greed has destroyed rhe usability of this app. The only reason I gave three stars is that the editorial content, if you can lad and rea it, is high quality. Unbridled ad spew has cost you at least two readers.

Really enjoying

App is easy to use and works very well.

Philly Inquirer

I like the new format. Never understood why Philly.com usurped the prestige of Inquirer.com. The op-ed and opinions are overwhelmingly liberal, even for a moderate R! As a right leaning R, I don’t get your bias. It seems counterintuitive to alienate so many customers, especially when print is in such peril. Even your “conservative” writers cross over to the dark side far too regularly. Fox News has introduced more liberal counterparts to their shows. Hannity, whose ultra-conservative rhetoric I sometimes find tiresome, welcomed Comrade DiBlasio on during his prime time show. It would lend credibility to the paper if it added true conservatives to your opinion writings staff.

An Inquirer Family

We adore the Inquirer. Whether in Philadelphia or Cape May. Friends, neighbors and family read the Inquirer and discuss content. Part of our lives, as youngsters and seniors, and the our next generations that respect local and informed journalism. Thank you.

Sluggish UI

I love that the Inquirer has created this new slick app. Some stories open sluggishly on my phone and the app has crashed, but I love the app.

App freezes everyday

Its reaching the point where I am likely going to stop reading the Inquirer. Super frustrating that every article freezes and the app continually crashes. Are you even looking at logs or doing any QA on the app?

Awesome
