Huh?

So after paying 4.99 I need to sign up for an 80 dollar service just to use the app or it won’t even open? Unbelievable. 0 stars.

Makes you pay after buying

Adhirai???

I don’t understand this. I bought the app for 5$ and then it wants me to pay for every month subscription??? That is ridiculous!

Definitely not happy.

I bought this because it says you can sync between devices. But apparently only with an extra $10 a month subscription. I want my $5 back. ?

Excellent Tool and Amazing Customer Service

Ignore my previous review where I gave one star because I was annoyed with a technical difficulty I was having with the app. It should be removed before you even see this review! Anyway, onto the app. It’s an amazing app. Superb design, beautiful minimalist appearance, and no bugs to speak of. Tracking is easy, you can even set it up so that the app lets you know that you haven’t met your daily goal. Color code projects, adjust titles and word goals as needed, mark them as complete and incomplete and you can have as many different projects as you want! Plus once you use it for awhile you have access to graphs that show your word counts for how much you’ve been writing! And now the best part! Their customer service on the inked voices website is absolutely amazing! I heard back from their team within two hours of sending in a complaint and asking them what I could do. It was resolved as quickly as possible by a wonderful lady named Brooke and it’s been working swimmingly since.

Cheated out of my money-don’t buy this app!

I paid the$5 only to be sent to a subscription page! I got nothing for my money. The app keeps crashing and I cannot sign in. Don’t be tempted by the pretty interface-it’s a scam.

Cannot log in

I purchased the app several years ago to track my writing. At the moment, it is unusable due to the fact that I will not pay a subscription fee in addition to what I paid for the app. I can’t even log in to see my old data.

Ink on!

I love the new upgrades. This app. Saves my life, keeping trap of what, how long, what exactly I'm doing. Look forward to increased productivity!

Good, but not great

I spent the money for this app because the preview led me to believe it had a daily word count tracker. It does not. It does not actually track your daily word count. You still have to do the math outside of the app to plug in your daily word count. I expected to be able to daily type in my actual total word count and the app keep track of how much I had written from day to day. Nope, my total word count for 5 days is 7277, but the dumb app thinks I’ve done 20661. Now that I realize this, there is no clear way to delete the logs, so that I can start over.

Elegant But Poor Foundation

This app is frustrating. I want to love it. It has a very clean, elegant looking interface. The design portion is knocked out of the park. The math and functionality behind it is frustrating. There are little things like the fact that if I don’t write at least an hour on a given day, my daily words / hr on a project zero. Since writing isn’t my day job I often don’t reach an hour a day. The charts don’t have axes labeled so it’s not easy to see what the goal or current achieved level is. And there are more annoying things like the fact that time entered as revision time counts against your words per minute. That makes no sense. I’m more likely to go down in word count while revising. I just want to track the total time I spend on a project which is not the same as words per hour. So I thought I could get around that by creating a separate project to track the time spent revising. I gave it a word count goal of zero. Big mistake. The app let me do that but now any time I open that project the app crashes. I can’t remove it because you have to open a project to delete (which is not how a lot of apps work - many allow you to edit at a list level). And until recently I only had one project. The word count for the project did not match my total word count (and I still have those extra words hanging around - I can’t find or get rid of them). My best guess is that when I changed the name of my project it didn’t cleanly move everything under the new name and there are some hidden words out there under a project that no longer really exists. Annoying. And for an app that is supposed to give you stats on your writing it’s annoying that those stats are not accurate. This doesn’t have the same quality as other $5 apps. But there’s also very little competition in this category so for now I guess I’ll continue to use it. I’m definitely hoping it either gets improved or something better comes along.
