· NetHack is one of the greatest games of all time
This game is the most faithful port I know of of a legendary game that’s been actively developed for longer than many players have been alive. That’s a guaranteed high rating right there. However, I can’t help but feel it doesn’t take advantage of being ported to touch screen devices as much as it could have. I prefer Pathos in interface terms. (Of course, that’s a moderately remixed take on the Hack game family rather than an exact port, but that’s not the point.)
The game is great however I can barely play due to it crashing nearly whenever I interact with my inventory. As you can imagine, the inventory is a pretty big part of the game, so I find myself just not playing it.
It is great to have NetHack on iOS! Please add keyboard support! I would really like to be able to play this game with my Bluetooth keyboard.
Nethack is the GOAT game, and I really enjoyed this port. About 5,000 moves into one character’s journey, there was a challenging battle against a high level creature. But the game crashed, and when it restarted, it reset a number of moves back as if the battle never started. Nethack on the PC back in the day was rock solid. Crash ruins the experience for me. YMMV. UPDATE: tried again and couldn’t help loving it. Only the one crash.
The game is great, and I’ve spent the last month playing it. The only problem is a few commands are missing, nothing gamebreaking but it is slightly irritating. For some people unable to find the settings, you can find them in the actual app’s settings
We the blind, need it!!! We cannot play with out it!!!
