IRCTC app doesn’t help for reservation

I was trying to book railway tickets for Jan 2020 to Mumbai from Ahmedabad (21st Nov2019). The site displayed no train for available reservation. The same time I asked an agent to book for a specific train and he could get it in minutes. I can’t understand how this could be possible unless some corrupt officers jamming the system for common men.

There is no option where it can log on with irctc id. It is asking for India’s phone no when trying to make reservation. Deleting this useless app.

I am an OCI living in US. I wish the app would allow any phone number to be used for authentication purposes and not just Indian mobile. I plan to travel with kids and have to ask an agent to make the reservation, which seems primitive and outdated.

Most of the time online booking is not working, need integration improvement with IRCTC. Hope this App will improve in future enabling all feature with 99% success rate.

If I try to check availability I always get error message, “Oops something went wrong, check again later” All I could do was to know which trains are departing on a particular date and time.

How can foreigners travel whose major dollar credit cards are not accepted. IRCTC has to think Big instead of being petty.

Please make the app and the entire registration process for NRI’s so that it works!! It’s very good at collecting money but extremely poor with actually registering the individual. Feel free to increase the railway ticket price at least 50% for us .... but make it seemless. Traveling India by rail is the best way to see the countryside and Indian railways should make it as absolutely easy as possible with dedicated customer service Greatest adventure in the world with the nicest people!! Also: use some of the funds to clean up around railway tracks/stations etc.. in touristy areas .... but first fix the effin MOBILE registration process !! Then it becomes a five star app. Thank you
