Incognito is incredibly easy to use, and truly powerful. With a text message-based interface, you're able to start and stop recording with direct commands. And to take it one step further, you can select a custom screenshot. This makes it great for recording things like pranks, candid interviews, police encounters, or other instances where recording is legal but could possibly be embarrassing. And if you need to take a photo, it's just as easy as recording a video.
Video recording is limited to 5 seconds. Unlimited recording forever is available as an In-App Purchase. Please remember that Incognito is intended for recording in instances where it is already legal. Incognito should not be used to violate any person's privacy, or in situations where recording is illegal. Incognito is not a secret or hidden camera, and always indicates when recording is taking place regardless of which camera is in use. Incognito is intended for professional use.

I was looking for something like this for a while and it does exactly what it claims: it records VIDEO in real time in the most discreet way. HOW TO IMPROVE IT? Here's my feedback to the developer: 1) make it possible to record from the front camera. Just use another key, like for example "F" for front and "R" for rear. If you want to catch someone on video the easiest way is to leave one's phone side up on a table while talking to them and actually show your phone's screen that there's nothing to worry about. 2) leave the option to have a completely black screen instead of the fake chat trick. Then, instead of keys, use the phone's volume buttons to start recording and stop. Volume Up records/stops rear camera, Volume Down records/stops front camera. That way, just before putting down your phone side up on the table (slightly inclined against pen for example), you discreetly click on the Volume Down button, the screen turns black and starts recording with the front camera. Perfect for candid interviews and detective work! A black screen is better than the fake chat screen because usually the iPhone screens shades to dark after a couple minutes to save battery, so it would be odd if the screen stays on for a long time, not to mention the person you're filming might question why you're openly displaying a private chat. 3) Change the app name. Very few people in USA know the word incognito. I had really hard time finding this app, which might explain why I'm the first and only reviewer thus far. Try something more catchy, like "discreet cam" or "invisible cam" or "detective cam". Don't use the term "vid" either in the app name as the logical keyword search is rather "cam" or "camera" for such an app. Good job anyway, but could be perfect with just a few lines of codes and changing the name, it could be a true hit (granted Apple doesn't remove it for privacy issues).

Would be nice if there is random text in the chat and you can have a fake conversation. The words Record and Photo will give it away when recording!

I seriously love this app. Is easy to use and buying the full length videos is actually worth it. But, there's two things I wish they added. If they had the ability to change the background, aka play games on your phone while recording and safari surfing, and to be able to manage the groups for more people and more fake messages would be cool.

Was disappointed with 5.00 paid version. Should have setting as to what volume buttons do (photo or start/stop recording), texts need slower replies, need 240 720p recording options for higher end devices, needs better instructions, needs to be able to lock device (or atleast press home button out of app) and keep recording/taking pictures. Other that that the app is okay.

Are you serious with this app? Nice when you download an app your about to buy and you get cursed at randomly by the "group" mms while your trying to figure it out how to use it. What is this? Thankfully I didnt pay and would love an explanation.

The unlimited video is way too expensive. I'd pay $2 max. Also, I'm confused on how to create custom contacts. Otherwise, it's an amazing and smart app!
