I agree with the other comments. Back to the drawing board for IKEA on this. I hope they find an app developer to make this work.

I am an Ikea fan but this app is plain terrible. I bet Ikea would sell more if this catalo app was at least intuitive.
Its me dude !!
This app is an example of poor app design. Someone is trying to be creative and replaced the original PDF catalogue with this piece of junk. This app is by far the worst catalogue app I've ever came across. Just let the user access a pdf copy of the hardcopy catalogue and next time use a functional brain while planning app updates.

I have an iPad Air 2, everything works perfect except this app. It took ages before it was ready for use. The search function is useless, works only if you know the model name. In example, you will get zero hits if you search for desktop. The app is by far the slowest I've ever tried on any device, including pc. I think IKEA went for the cheapest app developer, and this is what they got! LOL

As a web and app designer I can certainly see the hiccups in this app's usability, but it does work as it should.. Like this app, many apps publish main updates to the app store and leave minor updates to be done inside the app itself. Yes, when you first launch this app you'll have to download the latest catelogs from the Ikea servers. This is where most people claim the app "breaks" or "freezes". The reason why you may think that is instead of the download process showing you a progress bar or percent downloaded, they opted for the ultra-simple spinning circle. It's nice in theory, but doesn't tell the user how long to expect to be waiting, which, after 10 seconds or so seems broken. (See other reviews) Well your new catelogs are in fact being downloaded at this point, so just chill! The sluggish Ikea servers took around 45 seconds on my 150Mbps wifi to finish the process, but after that the app works fine. The reason I'm docking two starts: -0.5 starts for the crappy download spinner, and -1.5 stars for the inability to search the products. If anything, that's the deal breaker for me. Overall it's a nice app.

It's a product catalog, not a magazine. I want to see the products. And not one at a time; it took three swipes in different directions just to find that section. Ridiculous design, too much, "this is who designs it and why and we are saving Mother Earth". That's all great, but put it in a separate publication. It takes longer to get through the catalog than it does the store!

It's too complicated. Who wants to have to swipe a blank window away to see each and every page? I just don't understand why they made it so much work to flip through a catalog. Ugh!
