Good database, poor tools for students
Luhmann

It is fantastic to have such a complete Joseki database on one's phone. That alone is worth the price of the application. However, as a student of Go, I'd like to have much better tools for learning Joseki than what this offers. First of all, a Joseki tutorial mode should be restricted to the most common Joseki, rather than every possible one in the book. Secondly, the computer should play either black or white, punishing you for mistakes. Third, there should be some indication when the joseki is completed correctly, as well as a record of which joseki one has mastered. Perhaps this is not how the program was intended, so I am giving it four stars for being a good joseki dictionary, but what I really would like is a program which would be useful for learning the most common Joseki.

Also do not get this
Go--

Talk about a scam. This has almost nothing. I've downloaded nearly every go-game in the AppStore and this is by far the "scammiest" $2.99 you'll spend.

It's a nice program for 3 bucks
CrescentCity

Thanks to the developer for providing a handy joseki reference. If you ask me, having the rough equivalent of kogo's on the iPhone is plenty enough for me. Although I agree that a lot of new features would be useful, most of them hurt study. For example, having the computer punish a mistake is pointless. You should work out the variations as though you were always playing on the side currently to move. It helps develop one's 'mu shin' or emotional dispassion for the exaggerated security of a desired position, get me? Just memorize both sides, it's hard to think of a move by itself, you really want to know all the pairings for black then white. Anytime you have a willing go buddy or even one that doesn't play at all, you got a whole $@$ load of joseki to do. 3 bucks? I'll spend it here.

A nice little joseki dictionary
kirkmc

This is a nice little program, but it lacks a zoom function when you go to place a stone. Because of the small size of the grid and stones, this means that I often (because of fat fingers) misplace stones. The addition of the standard zoom function seems like a necessity.

Re: "scam"
Sulleric

This program is absolutely NOT a "scam." the reviewer that made the claim clearly had no idea what to do with it. It's not a game, it's a reference app, and a great one at that. Very simple, just open it up and try out some moves... The app will tell you the next moves in the joseki sequence. Also available is the option to switch colors, so that you can see the best way to attack an already-enclosed corner if need be.

Not what it could be
Buddhist Palm

I could use a good joseki tutor. This wasn't it. As another reviewer mentioned, it could really use a more graduated, progressive approach. I liked iGoWin Life much better.

Want refund
Tikitov

This app only shows one corner of a 19x19 board with only four variations. What a ripoff! I want a refund asap.

Needs explanation, missing plenty of joeski
メガマン

Needs something that explains the strengths and weaknesses of each joseki. This one you can only play the out blindly (and not even all corner joseki at that). Get a different app.
