IFiles 1 is better and does more than 2

cross79953

I’ve been using iFiles1 for most of the last five years and I love everything about it. And I’m sure iFiles 2 is probably an awesome update for version one however I cannot figure out how to import my files from version 1 without having to download them to my computer and then re-upload to version two. And perhaps I’ll send this to your tech-support and if I get a good answer our upgrade my rating of your app

Only shows empty iCloud SUBFOLDER

engineer3003

The app is exactly what I was looking for (access icloud, create folder, add and edit textfiles, annotate pdfs), but unfortunately only shows the ifiles subfolder of icloud, instead of the main icloud folder where all my documents are! Please change this to let me see the root folder of icloud, like you do for dropbox and google drive.

Great App, One Security Shortcoming

BP407

Love this app, best file manager for iOS. Been using since version 1. One shortcoming: Password locked folders should NOT be accessible over the Wifi or SMB sharing - the contents are completely exposed with NO password needed. This is easy to fix and I hope the developer implements the change to lock down these password protected folders. Been several months now since reporting this vulnerability with no action taken so removing one star.

Power-User Plus

Beyond legit. Do you tend to stop half-way through your iOS workflow because you lack a superior all-in-one data management app? This IS that app. I get that sounds like a plant, but it’s true. I’m learning this can handle anything thrown at it and more. My only two issues: the gallery/list view icon needs to be flip-flopped. Icons should show the desired-state, not active. Second, have an option/slider to change thumbnail grid size. (Pro-User Tip: Turn off ‘Settings>File Browser>Drag and Drop’. Amazing afterwards.) Keep up the great work!

AFP Supported App

Ivan Daniel Narvaez

Finally found the only app that allowed me to use my Time Capsule as a File Server by supporting AFP as opposed to just SMB. Has been running smoothly. Only request would be to be able to link the download sections to the remote locations. Thanks.

Very useful and versatile

Been using since the original IFiles and love IFiles 2 even more. Had a few issues in the beginning and the developer was very helpful and helped me sort them out. Probably the most versatile app I’ve used, highly recommend.

GREAT APP...BUT NEEDS A FEW BUG FIXES!

Pedro_Antonio

UPDATE: I‘ve installed it on my iPad and it seems to intermittently become unresponsive when selecting file actions now, and crashing when it never did before in original iFiles 1—needs to be addressed. I've been a major fan of this app since iFiles 1...it's got an awesome set of features. I particularly love its easy, instant access to all of my cloud drives. It would have gotten 5 stars from me if a much-needed user's guide was available AND there are a few bugs that now need to be addressed. Not sure what's happening with the developer, as they've been pretty good responding to my inquiries in the past. I've recently emailed them a few times over the past 3 months regarding questions and issues, but have yet to recieve any responses. A few current bugs... 1] App crashes after creating one or more bookmarks and then selecting it to go to that page. IFiles 2 doesn't quit or close the PDF—it's still there after using multitasking to find it again—and the bookmark now works. Creating or selecting another bookmark, however reinitiates a crash again. So saving a series of bookmarks in an iFiles 2 PDF and expecting to move through pages from one bookmark directly to another only results in it constantly crashing, reaccessing the bookmarks icon in the restored PDF and then selecting that bookmark again to go to that page. Selecting a second bookmark just crashes the app again...and that cycle goes round and round. 2] A PDF's saved bookmarks are suppose to travel and be accessable in any other PDF app that supports bookmarks. This holds true for 6 of the 7 PDF apps I use. But when using the "Open in..." feature in any of those six PDF apps to bring it into iFiles 2, those bookmarks created in any of the other apps are gone—the iFiles 2 bookmarks list display shows up blank. This includes using iFiles 2's "Open In..."to reopen a PDF's bookmarks that were originally created in iFiles 2 (using any of the 3 Annotated export setting) after opening it first in another app. These also show up blank in all of the six other PDF apps I tested this with. All other bookmarked PDFs created in those other PDF apps remain intact when exchanging them by using their "Open In..." feature within all of the aforementioned six PDF apps tested. 3] I've been unable to find any documentation—detailed or otherwise—for how to set up and activate iFiles 2's "SHARE" and "SYNCED FOLDER" options. The ability to access PDFs stored within iFiles 2 on any of my iOS devices from any other device is often critical—especially when one device is home while I'm using another oneon the road. There's no user manual, nor any mention of how to take advantage of these features—which I assume will enable this auto-file exchange capability— on their site, while multiple emails to the developer have still gone unanswered.
