The app stooped working in the last update :(

I have been using this app (and all its different versions) but I have to ask why is it so flakey? One of the most used features is IVS push notifications. In my case, someone crosses a trip wire and I get a notification. Then when I try to play it back it says “no record”. Yet on other days it works. This just drives me crazy. And of course if I go directly to the NVR to play back the incident, it is all there. So my question why does this happen, it’s frustrating, unreliable and gives Dahua a black eye. By trade I develop software and there is no reason why we should be subjected to such failures. **** Update**** With the latest app update, any playback of a push notification fails! If updates like this keep coming, before too long this app will be totally useless. **** latest update **** The playback of push notifications is pretty important to me. I spent some some working with my NVR and this app to determine why an alert fails. For those with the same problem, it appears to be in the time and date how it is recorded on the NVR. Some of this observation was due to the fact that any events that happen after 12:00 pm will indicate the event happen but playing it back using the app via the notification fails with “record not found”. To make things happy, I had to change my time format on the NVR to 24h instead of 12h. Moreover, the date format was also changed to be YYYY-MM-DD. Apparently this app is attempting to search for the event when it occurred and cannot find it due to time format. This appears to be the work around however Dahua should test their software more thoroughly.

Complicated & no snooze

Th app isn’t super user friendly. It commonly forgets settings too. But the most annoying thing is there is no option to snooze notifications. In the morning when my employees are walking around outside loading trucks it blows up my phone unless I turn off all notifications. That means before I leave for the night I have to remember to turn them on. There needs to be an option to snooze for 30 minutes to an hour. If I’m in a meeting I also want to snooze rather than have it buzz my phone non stop. Delivery quietly doesn’t work either because it means I have to remember to turn it back on.

Horrible update! Favorites lost; data not transferred

I’ve been using the original “Lite” application for quite some time, and despite the unacceptable learning curve (due to poor documentation and deficient Chinese programming), managed to get it to work quite reasonably for many months. This latest update is an absolute travesty. Not only did the upgrade result in all my favorites being lost, it keeps prompting me to update to the new “Plus” version, which I did. But none of the settings from the “Lite” version were transferred over! So now I have to suffer through setting up all that complicated nonsense again, using an application that is decidedly worse than the previous iteration. Why can’t an American company create something on par with this Chinese garbage so we can at least understand how it works? An absolute shame that this Chinese app is all we have available for this purpose.

Can’t add more than one device in manager. In network and out of network. Why change something that wasn’t broken. Lite version works better and now this version is even worse. Developers. Stop changing things. Waste of space on app.

Push notifications have been sporadic since several versions go and each update seems to make the app more useless. Live view window is smaller in the most recent update. Takes longer to load then before. They need to work on the ongoing issues and stop pushing out updates without fixing known issues.
