Wayyyyyyy too shrunk

Stallion9266

The game looks amazing, however it is almost unplayable due to how small everything is. I have an iPhone X and the font, even scaled to its highest, is far too small to read comfortably. Very unfortunate. If I could see what I’m doing I would be inclined to give the game a higher rating. I

Sounds

My favorite game for sure, goes way back for me. Love it with all that I am but I don’t have any sound on my device at all. Disheartening!

A fantastic revisit to the Forgotten Realm

Ghostmetalblack

Beamdog has brought us an undistilled Icewind Dale experience. Everything I remember and loved from the original PC masterpiece is here in all its enhanced glory. The touch controls are very intuitive. I have absolutely no complaints. I love being able to carry this game around.

Close but no cigar

With this small of screen (6+). You really need behavior scripts to work They don't. Tried everything under the sun to keep several chars to used ranged attacks against the beetles in dragon eye. They wont. They either rush in melee or just stand there and do nothing Even pausing the game to manually try to queue attacks wont work Nice try, but a successful port this is not

Excellent

I am on Chapter 2 of IWD and thoroughly enjoy this game. I have played ALL Black Isle titles and this is a faithful recreation from Overhaul. This game could be overwhelming for the newer/younger gamer, as there's a lot of management and character management, but the payoff is worth it.

A Classic, Perfected

TNation86

This is less a review of Icewind Dale itself than it is a review of the port. The game, in brief, is a classic for good reason; it's challenging, engaging, and infinitely replayable. If you've never played it, you're in for a treat. If you have played it already... You're still in for a treat! The ports of the two Baldur's Gate games were frankly problematic, and doubly so on iOS. They have improved with patches, but the initial releases were fiddly and imprecise to control by touch and were riddled with bugs. The Icewind Dale port, on the other hand, is nearly flawless. Overhaul have finally nailed the porting process, and I haven't had a problem yet. You'll need glasses to play it on anything smaller than an iPhone 6, but even there it's smooth. On the iPad, it sings. Bottom line, buy this game. I can't wait for the previous two releases to be patched to this level of quality! [Edit: for what it's worth, the Baldur's Gate ports are now equally polished. Do yourself a favor and pick them up as well!]

Played all the way through plus expansion

ZeroGravity123

The other reviews here are accurate, the programmers did an excellent job on this port. I have been playing this game for the last few months and many hours at a time on my IPad. I completed (I won't say "won" since most of my party perished in the final fight) the main game and then played and completed the expansion. Not once did I encounter any bugs. Really well done port of Icewind Dale. I am hope that they plan to release Icewind Dale 2 at some point !

Do not buy this game!!!

Chronic loser

This WAS a good game in its day. There appears to have been little to no effort to modify this game to function on tablets. I would be surprised if it is even playable on a phone. The game also provides little guidance on how to play. As a result you can waste hours trying to do even basic things. I thing it would be a great opportunity if someone made something like this, but it was actually playable!!!

Wow

Love this game

Good god fix the inventory issue!

Squash Blossom 1990

I basically like this game and I was excited to get a good RPG on my iPhone. But. A way to select multiple items from a stack in your inventory does not exist in the iOS port. This means that if you want to remove say 240 arrows from your ammo bag to refill your archer you have to tap your phone 480 times. Yeah. Two taps per arrow and one at a time. From looking into it this is a known issue they're just not bothering to fix. To get around it people are saving their game, exporting to the pc version, opening it up, pulling out some arrows, saving the game, and exporting again to their iOS device. This is actually less trouble than moving things around in game. This problem is really a major pain and I can't believe it would be rocket science to fix, so really this game seems basically unsupported. Good luck.
