Great podcast app!

Infoman10

I’ve used 10 apps trying to find a way to automatically repeat a podcast. Or use a sleep timer. No ads or pressure to listen to podcasts I’m not interested in. To top it off, you can send a podcast mp3 file to someone!

Wow!

Tmflancaster

Simply the best podcast player out there. Chock full of options to tailor to your needs. I have tried them all and in my opinion this is the best.

Very reliable and valuable a great app

Awesome ? Podcast App

DudemanLA

Review iCatcher! Works great on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15 I love the shortcuts I can make for this app. Just go to the settings in this app to set it up. This is a very solid app. The person who makes this app updates it often and does an amazing job. I have been using this app for a long time and think it's the best I really like the addition of dynamic text as I use that feature to make the font size large in the accessibility settings on the iPhone and iPad. Btw, I found out I can change the artwork on each podcast. I can pick a photo on my iPhone to add as the photo I will see when I play the podcast Very ? I have tried the top podcasting apps and I prefer this one the best. One of the great things about this app is you can really customize this app with a lot of settings, so you can tweak it just the way you like it and you can also use gestures. With gestures you can easily jump backwards, forwards, pause, etc. with the swipe of a finger or double tap anywhere on the screen to pause. It's especially helpful when you're doing other things. Some gestures you can do with this app are the Leo where you do an L or a reverse L to skip ahead or back 2 minutes. Swipe left or right with one finger to go 30 seconds ahead or back. Doing a two finger swipe goes backwards or forwards 1 minute. Double tap to play or pause. There is even a gesture to mark as played, which I enjoy doing ? I tried downcast and really tried to like it but I find it very unintuitive, and the way it's organized is not really to my liking. Also this app developer is very responsive. If you have a question or need help, he will get back to you via email from the help button on the bottom. Although within the app you can tap on help and find a lot of information on how to use the app etc. I would suggest looking at that first, cause I found that many of the answers are in there.

Fantastic!

I’ve been using this app since I first got my smartphone and I’ve never been happier with it. Truly amazing!

What happened

This app has been great but suddenly seems to have stopped working. Is it no longer supported or updating?

Update broke play

Duzzenmatta

Since the update, whenever I leave the app and come back again, the currently playing podcast will not respond to commands. The only fix I’ve found (including standard phone restart) is to swipe left and select Delete. Of your choices, pick Re-download. It’s just a few seconds or so, but it defeats the purpose of Handsfree and keeps me from doing anything else. ——— 9/25/21 I’ve tried every podcast app that caught my attention, and this blows them all out of the water. But. The. Friggin. Lag!!! I’ve had to force quit the app to get it to shut up. (Though honestly— the Control Center might be more efficient.) ——— 8/22/21 These past several months have become a struggle, with iCatcher!. Each with latest iOS update:, the iPhone app lags to the point where I will close it and use the Control Center to get my podcasts to do what I need them to do— then I’ll launch the app again; the iPad doesn’t fair much better— I can’t import the OPML (export file) created by its own iPhone counterpart— per instructions (export in app, transfer to new device, open OPML file to iCatcher!). The app opens an blankly stares back empty. This once great app is struggling, and my eyes (and ears) are starting to wonder about for something better Could the vanilla podcasts app be better. I dunno— maybe I’ll look ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ——— 12/3/20 I’ve tried being patient with this app’s tendency to skip forward and behind at random, but the problem is way past old. It just marked as played the second part of a podcast that was still in its introduction. It turns out that the UI for this isn’t intuitive enough to be able to go back into podcast history to download it again, and I haven’t figured out the magic spell needed to download it again. Also, I find that podcasts refuse to be moved into new/different playlists. If you try from within the current playlist to move a song into a different playlist, future podcasts will stubbornly continue to download into the original one. (Mental olympics- I hope that makes sense.) Also, little pop-ups/tips/hints could be helpful to point us in the right direction to change the requested setting Loses 1 star . ——— ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 11/3/20 Still feeling iCatcher!, but it’s got 2 ugly glitches on iOS 14: • big headache is that it will skip ahead ~1 minute at points similar to where I had bookmarked older/different podcasts • LAG! -all you can eat, especially when swapping in from another app or just waking the phone Update 10/12/20 Using this daily, and I love it on the new iOS 14. Nicely cleaned up, but it can be a little laggy. I’m sure they’ll fix this soon. I don’t remember a bug lasting long enough for me to notice, in here. I’m betting the surprise update has something to do with it ——— 4/14/18 Still happy! Update 11/28/17: Really liking this podcast app, but wish I didn't have to create a playlist in order to get podcasts to play according to the settings that I'd already created. Without setting up a playlist, the app usually won't auto-play another downloaded podcast. Unfortunately, nothing that I found in the app informed me of this. Almost knocked the rating down to 4 stars for this, but I still like it, so... ------------------------------------ Listening to podcasts all the time, I've been unhappy with players for a long time. They were always too convoluted, lacked features, and would just frustrate me. I'd tried PodCruncher, Overcast, Podcasts... others I can't remember! Just when I thought I'd have to settle for Overcast again, I found the feature list for iCatcher! It pretty much does as advertised, and while you have to hunt around in the settings to familiarize yourself with the location for everything, it's not too bad. I love that I can control 30 second (customizable) ff/rw with my headphones. There's supposedly a "Leo" advance gesture of 2 minutes, too! I know the reference, and I suspect that I'll appreciate the value of it. Over the course of the past couple days, I've listened to a handful of podcasts, and I think I might have found a couple of minor bugs: • though I think that I have the back-to-back play feature turned on, regardless of whether I have the back-to-back icon selected in the play window, podcasts don't always seem to advance to the next unplayed one on the list. This could be a settings issue, so I expect I'll be more certain as I use the app. • when attempting to email the OPML data file to myself, when I changed my mind and tried to cancel the email, the "Cancel" button appeared "whited out"/unselectable. It still functioned, and I cancelled out without further problem. That's it! If the programmer is on top of things, like everyone says, these problems will probably disappear in no time. I love this app!

Latest version locking up

brithedark

I love the app. Love it more on my watch! But whatever changed the last few weeks, now the podcasts just freeze. They stop playing and I can’t figure out how to get them moving again.
