The absolute best

Have been using Icab for 3 years, and it is without a doubt, pretty much flawless. Very safe, conveniently updated and improved, just light years ahead of competition. Perfect for IPad and mobile. Can’t compliment the developers enough. Get it, you won’t regret it!

Great app with a few bugs...

iCab Mobile offers everything and more I need in a web browser. It’s fast, customizable, reliable*, and easy to use. However, I have a few gripes. Videos, not just in YouTube, don’t play when scrolling, the app tends to crash when trying to load new videos, and 3D Touch sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. This app is amazing and replaces safari for me. I have moved safari into my extras folder on my iPad and iPhone and put iCab in my iPad’s dock. Overall, this is a great app with a few bugs.

The BEST Browser

I have never been so impressed with an app that I’ve felt compelled to write a review. Seriously, I’ve downloaded literally thousands of apps across dozens of mobile devices, Android to iOS, Mac to Windows, even many Linux systems, and never have I seen a piece of software that goes so far beyond my wildest expectations. I have spent the better portion of two decades studying and redesigning systems of the world and a great deal of that time has been spent researching, testing, and using software. This browser does nearly 99.9% of what is theoretically possible for a mobile browser. Every aspect is customizable. I can adjust the position of buttons, modify every aspect of the user interface: colors, brightness, and fonts, and change every setting. I can even specify the various gestures and swipes to exactly what I want them to do. And it doesn’t stop there! The privacy and security features make all others pale in comparison. I have complete control over what websites can display, set, and do on my device. I can set a different browser ID, I can tailor-block all forms of advertising, I can even specify which cookies are allowed or blocked by website. If you’re worried about prying eyes while sharing your phone, don’t be, you can set up different user profiles with their own settings and they all can be password protected. Want to automatically erase items periodically? No problem! Then there are the several dozen extensions built in: URL shortener, QR scanner, secure password manager (LastPass and others), AdBlock, file downloader and manager, custom search engines, full bookmark engine with folders and organization, FireFox sync, Amazon integration, and so on. For real, get this browser, especially if you value customization and features.

There is a problem

I didn't open the privacy mode. However, when I quit the program (the application is still running in the background), I immediately found that the pages I opened were all gone.

I have a work website that does not work on safari. Heard about this and it kind of works. Pages don't fit right. You loose basic functions like copy and paste, but at least I can scroll now.

Great Web Browser

I’ve been using this browser for a few years now, and it’s better than the name-brand browsers for your iDevice. The many ways the app allows you to customize your browsing toolset is amazing. The developer listens to feedback as well, and there are updates as needed.

Still the Best

I put iCab aside for a while since I'd switched away from LastPass to another password manager. Silly me. Of course iCab handles any password manager that iOS supports. As well, it has capabilities that are far beyond Safari. I should never have strayed.

Enables Desktop class efficiency and flows

This is the first review I’ve ever written for the app store, but I just had to say something for iCab. I’m someone who is trying to use the iPad more as their main computer, but have been having difficulty with the general attitude of app developers who just don’t care much for the keyboard. This on top of a general lack of features or settings power users might find very useful to speed up any form of work. One example would be on the desktop: I’d be able to open up links in new tabs clicking the scroll button. This is a crucial flow when researching anything online, but the only way to do this with Safari is tap and holding for a context menu. Although iCab doesn’t give any innovation to being able to do this without a mouse (i was hoping for one of the customizable touch control to be able to do it when clicking a link), iCab does let you change tapping a link to always ask how you want to open the link. This saves way more time than having to hold and wait for context menus. This is just one way iCab enables better flows. I’m still having fun experimenting other ways to mimic desktop flows. Anyway, I won’t touch on the copious amounts of features and settings other reviewers have already gone over. A few notes: - The Apple Watch control is great and hilarious, surprised it was made at all, and I would find it useful for reading comics if it worked on the iPad. Bigger screen and all. - iCab’s customizable keyboard support alone is worth the price and using this browser as your main. Arrow keys even work in submenus... which is unheard of on iOS. Shortcuts are responsive, the app doesn’t do any egregious animations when pressing shortcuts like other browsers tend to do, giving an appearance of sluggishness. The app flies. - As a webdev, having a built in firebug lite is incredible. I’ve purchased apps that only have this feature as a selling point. The ability to change your browser agent is also insane. Alexander just gets it. The app ecosystem sorely needs more apps that legitimately cater to power users, instead of just posturing.

Fantastic Flexibility

I like to calculate

Excellent alternative for those times when Apple's Safari browser just won't cut it. This app has more options that I will ever use, but it is comforting to know they are all there waiting, just in case. The Connected podcast team gushes about this app on a recent podcast (Apr. 3, 2019 episode, ~ 15 minutes before the end) if you are interested.
