I have used iaWriter for years, and love it for it's simplicity. I have it on my air, iPad and phone and work on writing projects across all devices, or do a quick note on phone ( the voice recognition of apple is good enough for most simple things ) and this makes writer ever easier to use. Do not understand other racers rants about privacy. The policy I see in settings is clear and non threatening to me.

I jump around from word processor to processor and I've found that Textkraft Pro, (if I feel like getting a little fancy) Arundo (if I'm doing a lot of research) and this one are the ones I fall back on most of all. (Writing Desk is pretty cool, too). The ease of Dropbox downloading and not worrying about font size, color, margins, and any of that hassle make it a great app for turning it on when you get an idea and just start writing. Isn't that the idea? Remember when people just opened a notebook and wrote? I still love doing that, too. Talk about ease.

I've been trying different note taking and writing apps because I need to capture thoughts as they're happening, like I do in my Moleskin. Evernote, Penultimate and Note all were nice to explore and have nice layouts but I quickly stopped using them. They were less about the act of writing thoughts down and more about the organization or presentation of information. iA Writer slowly grew on me with each use. I'm able to my focus on my writing and write almost as fast as I'm thinking without being bothered by extraneous formatting issues. I'm also able to review and revise what I wrote as easily. Whether I'm writing the content of a news letter, or recipes that I'm perfecting, this app allows me to do it as easily as if I'm writing on paper! I can then finesse the text fonts and formatting in other apps that specialize in graphic design if I need to.

I have written a short Novel and am writing a longer one. It has been an indispensable tool in combination with my thinkgeek ipad case with bluetooth keyboard. This makes the ipad a usable device.
