What a great app

Sksneicj

I don’t write many reviews, but I love this app, and I hope it is a success. Like probably every songwriter over a certain age, I used to record all of my ideas using a portable cassette recorder. This app makes it incredibly fun and efficient to get your ideas down, including whatever tunings, keys, lyrics, and other details you want to remember. It’s not incredibly complex, and that’s what makes it great. It’s sleek and fast. I love it.

Wow. Just wow

I've been using Hum from the jump, and can honestly say that this update is a game changer. With the horizontal support, and the streamlined interface everything on this app is wonderful. I wrote an entire project using this app, and I cannot imagine writing music without it now. The creators are super receptive to feedback, and answer back any comments, concerns, and feedback. The only reason I didn't give it that 5th star is because I still think that this app would benefit greatly from iCloud syncing, and a Today view widget for throwing quick ideas would really take it to the next level. Other than that by far this is the best song writing app on the App Store!

Great tool for songwriters

Emoney007

I really enjoy working in this app and the user interface is truly well done. It looks great now on iPhone 6. There are a couple key features that I'm still waiting for such as the Dropbox syncing and multiple audio tracks for each song idea so as to able to record new parts and revisions without losing work or having to create a new Hum file. If it had those features, this app would be just about perfect, and when those features come, I'll enthusiastically go out of my way to give it 5 stars and review it whenever it updates just to help promote it. Even as it stands, it's well worth the money and it beats using voice memos by a mile.

Falls short

Drgnj

As others have mentioned it needs 2 things desperately. One is better export options to Dropbox or the likes and second the ability to save more than one file into one project. Without it it's just a voice recorder with the option to add a few more tags

Needs a folder feature

KingAndPriest

I would like this app to have the ability to make folders. My stuff is so unorganized and I hate that. Thank you for fixing this.

Only missing a few things

Tommygroove

I love how pretty and simple this app is but feel a few things are missing. There is another app just called songwriter and it is extremely ugly (can barely use it because of this) but has these key features I would love to see. 1)Chord input (that changes keys if you want it to so you don't have to manually adjust each typed out chord) 2)synonym/rhyme feature when highlighting a word 3)and this isn't completely necessary but something cool is the ability to create separate song sections and arranging them. Also being able to record separate parts for the same song for ideas instead of just one audio track per song. Thanks guys! I love the other app as you can see but it has not been updated in over a year and with your design you already have it would clearly make this app the best in the songwriting department.

Great idea, needs work

finkbmx

I like the idea and I am excited to use the app but there's one major problem. You cannot continue recording on a song. Once you record something that's it. I usually build songs section by section and I'd like to be able to continue where I left off, potentially with a marker to play from that point on. If that was implemented, this would be useful but for now it's a little more tedious than the stock voice memos app.

Charge for a tuner?

aetguitars

I hope you don't continue down this path. I'll be looking for an alternative if you start charging for added features, specially the essential ones like Cloud syncing.

Super simple, super powerful songwriting app that gets better with every new release. Exactly what you need to capture those fragile ideas that would otherwise get forgotten.

Great tool

Amazing for keeping all your song sketches in one place. It's like moleskine++
