I haven’t ever rated an app, but...

CurtColl333

I have never rated an app just due to laziness i guess.. lol BUT i was moved to rate Hum. I have tried ALL songwriting apps and I just keep coming back to Hum! I will say i have only had one issue since 2015 when i got it first. That was just recently when it started shutting down after a few minutes. I emailed support and the short time it took for them to respond and fix my issue, i had to use another app for my ideas. I swear it felt like a fish out of water. Hum is my comfort zone! It was very odd feeling of something not right. It really cramped my creativity! I just love everything about it and how easy it is to just get what you need out of it. I will say i have a deep southern drawl and most speech recognition deals cant understand but Hum is the best at quickly figuring it out. Just thought i needed to let them know. Thanks for a great app! Curt

files lost

great except for when it won’t play my old files—a lot of them have been lost. the file is still there, but when I try to hit play, nothing was saved.

A great organized resource for a process that is often disorganized.

For me, songwriting has always been a disorganized process. Different ideas come in different ways; including lyrics that will sit for a year, guitar parts that don’t have any accompanying thoughts, and sometimes full songs that come all at once. This process wasn’t helped by needing to use multiple services to capture ideas in many different places. Hum has really helped me localize all of my ideas and processes in one area to be able to see the canvas in whole and work on ideas for as long as inspiration is available. Additionally, seeing ideas along side one another in a list, I can look for thematic elements and work to either eliminate duplication in songs or look for areas to combine ideas. Within minutes of using Hum, I knew it where it would add simplicity to my process. That simplicity helps me utilize tools in the most efficient process so I can get out of my own way when I’m feeling inspired.

The best!

I really really love this app, I’ve been using it for about a year now, and it’s absolutely fantastic. I would love for it to have to ability for multiple voice recording in one file. I find it a bit annoying when I have to record the voice again when I change my mind about the guitar.

Hum for iPad?

Bagel_Bites

Would love to sync with iCloud to my iPad. That'll maybe also act as a backup as well?

Works great

Worm$

I'd love to be able to overdub tracks for songs with multiple parts

Off to a great start

Could be amazing with more features, but it does the trick for iSongWriting

MISSING KEY FEATURES

Squatch91

This app DESPERATELY NEEDS the option to send AND backup files to Dropbox or bitcasa AND the ability to access the files via iTunes is a must (via a zip with the audio files and a text file containing lyrics, ideas and key/tempo info). Feature wise, the app is missing the ability to record multiple ideas in one song idea. It kind of renders the app useless for the exploratory nature of songwriting. Brilliant concept, poor execution.

Great App

I love this app! I use it all the time. Thanks for all the updates!

Hum is gonna be #1

Definitely my favorite and most used app. Has so much potential to change the on the go songwriting. really friendly and easy to talk to team over at hum and they seem to be addressing all the areas that are lacking. I've recorded 500+ demos this year with it. Would love to be able to mass save on Dropbox, be able to not lose a beat when opening different songs because the interface thinks im trying to record, record multiples on one idea, import a beat to record to as well when recording it turns off your iTunes. Can't wait for the future with hum on my songwriting took belt!
