Unusable

JT Starr

Upon opening the app, an ad congratulating me for being an Amazon customer and wants me to spin their Amazon rewards big wheel. First, I haven’t given the app any permissions other than my location when I’m using the app. So it’s either a lie because they are just guessing that the odds favor anyone opening the app,has made a purchase from Amazon. The alternate explanation is that the app has read data on my iPhone without disclosure and without my permission. Either way, I’m not going to follow their direction to enter their game of chance when it has nothing to do with the purpose of the app. The only action button is to “Continue” so unless I agree to play the game (and agree to anything else in the fine print) the prize wheel ad remains layered on top of the app UI.

Does NOT show private airports!

Radar O'Reiley

Private airfields and airports recognized by the FAA (and found in the FAA app “B4U Fly”) are not listed in this app! There are even a great number of helipads missing that are charted by the FAA. This app has some useful info, but missing private airports is a serious flaw.

Pure Trash!

Medvi Hartoonian

This app is way too oversized and the big text is absolutely unnecessary. At least give us the option to shrink it down a little in the settings. When I go to settings all I see is the news sources. If you could add the enhancements the app would look more prestige, more professional to use and pleasing to the user. As of the know though, I am giving it 1 star and absolutely do not agree that this is the #1 drone app on the App Store. If it is then that is truly sad. I will update this review if changes listed above have been made.

Incorrect information in this app

Irishguy CT

This app is crap! The information in here is inaccurate. The forecast info is completely off, as if they just but what ever they thought sounded good 1st example: I made the mistake of trusting this app to be accurate. I checked the wind speeds, the app said 7mph wind. I put my Mavic Pro in the air and it was never able to make it back to the home point and crashed because I just couldn’t keep pace with the wind, because the winds were a lot more than 7mph apparently. 2 weeks later I notice the winds are whipping in my area so I check the app to see if there was a wind advisory or correct wind speed at least. Nope it said the winds are only 12mph. Which is false, According to The Weather Channel app there is a wind advisory from 1pm to 5am in the morning with winds at 30mph and gusts of 60mph!!! No mention of this in this app! Stay away and just use weather apps for weather seeing that this app failed I have no idea how these youtubers can say this app is good, must be a sponsor. And what is Jeff0566 talking about? This app is garbage!

Helpful app, one suggestion

AaplMike

Good collection of flight-related data. The one thing I’d like to see is a way for the community to review flying sites. For example, If you find a location is either supportive or unfriendly to pilots, or there are strict no-fly rules, or particularly interesting landscape or objects to film, that can be attached to a location’s review.

Feature rich & simple

WebSmiths

This little app has more than I thought it would have and was intuitive to find and customize. They should all be this easy. With the logging feature you really have all that you need!

Fantastic for drone owner - minor improvement

heylovie

This is the info that I most need. Thanks! Wind speed forecasts, no fly zone maps, etc. My one issue is that your built in web browser won’t let you scroll. So it’s pretty useless. Having an “open in...” option or just a fixed browser would be helpful when trying to follow links that show up on the map or other places.

Like the airspace browser, but no part 107 rules filter

adshred

Like the feature where you can tap and see what exists in the airspace, but no part 107 support (as far as I can tell). Overall it could use a lot of UI improvements but a good start.

Heliports?

2rescueYou

So what is the official law? The FAA official app says I can’t fly, well anywhere, because pretty much everywhere is within 5 miles of an airport or someone’s personal airfield or heliport. This app makes me feel I can legally fly lots of places. What is the official law?

Good map

Mr. Fish geek

I only use the map on the app to check ares I’m thinking about flying at to see if they’re ok. I haven’t had any problem with the man so I’m guessing it’s mostly correct. Shows all the public airports and also marks the NPS boundary’s. I’ve contacted many county conservation officers, DNR and the Core of Engineers about flying in parks and public land that they over see. The Core of Engineers does not allow drown use nation wide. They cover a lot of the parks and campgrounds that are around dams. Such as the locks and dams on the Mississippi River and flood control reservoirs. It would be nice to add Core and any others that don’t allow drone use.
