Helpful!

I love this game! So far, I've only done six levels, but it seems like it would be very helpful.

Really feel like I'm learning

alexm39

Taking Japanese in college and so far I feel like I'm learning the alphabet

So far so good

Just picked the app up yesterday, the music is catchy and the lessons stick. Overall, great job!

Good and surprisingly catchy

BurntWaffleLord >;)

At first I downloaded this because I wanted to learn Japanese and I put it into my list of like 30 other apps that I got bored of easily until I actually opened it. The song was actually really catchy and it was addictive when you failed and wanted to get an 100%. This game actually does its job and even if you had it just for fun I wouldn’t mind it as a regular game

goofy in a good way

gilesgoatboy

this is like watching ゆりかまあゃり or the anime where a cat is also a banana or that game show where a random object in the room is made of chocolate. or playing Katamari Damashii. the creator’s name is James Bernard or something, but it feels so Japanese. the backgrounds feature spider robot houses and giant turtles with skyscrapers on their backs, all in the 8-bit style of early arcade games. the first few (free) levels were a little too easy, especially if you already know the hiragana and just want a little practice, but the last couple made me work, and I think I’ll probably pay for the non-free ones.

Amazing

Extremely fun app that helps and motivates you to learn hiragana. I’d like to see more of this sort of thing with kanji, Japanese sentences, and etc.

Makes drilling fun

Chris Pike

I actually found this frustrating until I realized it's a side scrolling game (easy to overlook, as it's a small part of the interface.) Now I find it a fun way to drill hiragana. The only drawback is that it sometimes emphasizes the game aspect a bit too much, although that's arguably not a fault. ETA: Another drawback is that it doesn't recognize when you've reviewed it and keeps prompting you to.

Surprisingly fun

And it actually seems like it would be a useful addition to studying flash cards.
