Brilliant

I love the simplicity of it. It is very fun and still very educational. The epitome of an educational video game!

Great supplement for study

SWillowood

I have been studying Japanese for a little over a month now - this is my third attempt to learn the language and I am determined to succeed this time; therefore, I have started looking for better means of supplementing my book and instructor study time with games and other fun ways to engage with the language outside of study time proper. Hiragana Pixel Party has been a wonderful supplement to my study regiment. Alone, this will not teach you the letters; however, it will most certainly embed the characters into your brain so that you don’t even have to think about them when reading Japanese. When I read English I don’t think about the characters that make up words, I merely pass over them and collectively understand the word they form. I was not able to do that previously with Japanese; however, after many hours of playing this on my Switch, I now have a similar fluency with Hiragana and almost with Katakana. It’s incredibly motivating. Don’t rely on this to teach you, but you can rely on this to drill you. Putting it on my iPhone for when I can’t have my Switch near by ;)

One of the better “learn hiragana” games I’ve seen

SheogorathTESV

I have only started learning Japanese at my college, and I have been using duo lingo and other apps to learn Japanese, but this app in particular has really helped me because it forces you to learn to recognize hiragana characters and sounds quickly, while being entertaining and rewarding. Not having to struggle to remember how to read hiragana in class has been a huge help. My only complaint is that sometimes (not very often) the beats of the music and the timing of the character sounds seem a little off from each other, which can be kind of distracting and make it hard to hit them at the right time, especially on levels where the boxes you have to jump over blend in with the dark background. (Admittedly though, I am not very good at music and timing so maybe they are meant to sound like that and it’s just a rhythm thing that I am just not picking up on)

2 in one

I am trying to learn Japanese, even better if I can practice in keeping time and hitting the right beat. Helps a lot when it comes to memorizing.

Doesn’t Register When you Tap

Slotsaholic777

This game is absolute trash!!!! When you tap on the screen it doesn’t do anything, and it doesn’t even teach you Japanese! It just flashes a girl saying “ah” over again then flashing an image of the Japanese alphabet which doesn’t teach people to read Japanese! Over all this game is a piece of crap that doesn’t even deserve to be on the App Store because of false advertising and lack of gameplay.

Really good!

L3HUMAN

I actually really recommend this for anyone that wants to learn and have fun along the way, it really does work!

Wow

Jew papa

It’s actually a good learning game

Great but there is an ambiguous button

DoomBlah

Recommend switching the button text for the hiragana and katakana missions because it makes it look like the katakana missions are the hiragana ones and vice versa.

Fabulous!

I found this incredibly fun and enjoyable i started learning immediately and i cant help but think they should make an english version to help teach preschoolers and such, this is a fun and educational game and i honestly think there should be more apps like this!
