It's been a long time since I studied Japanese, but this has been a great starting point to refresh my reading and writing of both hiragana and katakana.

This app is really helpful if you want to learn katakana or hirigana. It teaches you all of the symbols and how to pronounce each one. It also teaches a large vocabulary of simple words such as たぬけ (raccoon), けれい (beautiful) and many more I highly recommend this app to any one who wishes to start learning Japanese.

Works well!

This is a great app for learning Japanese. It teaches each Hiragana and Katakana letter, along with it's stroke order and a few words per letter, plus audio. It doesn't crash and it has easy to use quizzes.

Extremely useful but missing one thing

TXTwister46

I absolutely love this app better than any other Japanese learning tool that I have found. The structure of the app is easy to figure out and I love that it teaches words using letters which you have already learned. The one thing which is missing though is "wo" in Katakana. It is mentioned in the wrapping up but not in the list of characters to learn. If this could include Kanji too (like the first 2,000 important ones), it would really make this the ultimate app to learn reading and writing Japanese.
