Why would you do this?

So there's a black bar at the top and then the iPad bar above that so tons of wasted space. Plus as I'm trying to flip through the pages they move up and down. Sort of bounce. I want my money back for the entire time that I've subscribed which is several years.


Terrible Update!

I innocently updated this app and lost all of my downloaded magazines. Very frustrating! If this is the way the updates for this app are going to be, then I will either never update the app or may even cancel my subscription. What a waste of time and data to have to download everything again. Not happy! ?


Horrible upgrade - locks on ads

This upgrade is awful. Content is unprofessionally laid out down the page while many more ads than usual scrawl across multiple pages you have to scroll thru. And several times when you scroll, it opens the ads. Then on my system, the ad STAYS OPEN. You cannot close it. You cannot change the URL. You have to force quit and restart the app to try and get to the next page. If this is not addressed by next issue, I will cancel my multiyear subscription. Used to love the magazine, hate the upgrade!


What are they thinking!

The whole magazine layout is disjointed. It is a digital magazine it should work like a magazine with benefits of being able to click on a page for more information. If this is the format now, I will not be renewing.


Can't Access My Downloaded and Archived Copies

I can't access my account, which doesn't expire until November 2017. I followed the instructions for resetting my password twice and I still cannot access my magazine subscription. It appears there was not enough testing of this update before its release.


Terrible upgrade, can no longer enjoy the magazine

Overall, this app turns HGTV from one of the best magazine reading experiences (it looked and read just like the magazine, very responsive) to one of the worst (slow-loading, scrolling as well as page turning, etc.) Worst of all: all the swiping causes many ads to open unintentionally, and YOU CAN'T CLOSE THEM. I had to re-install the app twice. Avoid this publication until it's fixed.


Can't download purchases.

I have gone to paper versions of all magazines I read. I have also cut back on the amount of them I order. I've gone from 3 fashion magazines to one. I only read one tech magazine rather than 2 and I've decided to keep Real Simple and get rid of HGTV all because of the poor updates. I can't download issues I've purchased on multiple magazines genres. I will also not be buying a new iPad because I only use it for reading. When this one dies Oh well!


Stick with the print edition

I have had nothing but problems with the digital content. The issues I have already paid for are now requiring me to pay to access the content. Customer service is terrible. I have not been able to find a phone number to contact them, and the back and forth emailing has gotten me nowhere. Very frustrated.


Terrible Update

They took away all of the great functionality that used to exist. Especially disappointing is the removal of the ability to pinch and zoom. No longer can I read ANY small print nor zoom in to see those special details in the images. Bad for advertisers and readers, especially for a magazine that is all about the visual experience. Shame on you HGTV Magazine. I will not renew my subscription.


Don't update!

Stick with ver. 5.4 if you can until a decent update is issued. Ver 6 is junk!!
