New update is a downgrade

The recent upgrade effected the study algorithm. It went from saying I had 100 item review to two items. I get they may be attempting to have a better user retention by doing away with those high daunting numbers. But it has heavily downgraded it’s review effectiveness. Learning a language isn’t easy and having heavy review maybe be needed. If I miss 7 days I expect to need to review 100 items not two.

Great app that has lots of audio of slow careful speech and also native speaker examples. Really top notch. I've been studying with it for a few months and I'm getting comfortable forming some phases and sentences

I think that Hello Chinese is an extremely useful tool for acquiring a good foundation for listening and reading comprehension. I appreciate that there are audio clips of native speakers and I like that they include writing practice so that I can learn the stroke order for characters. I haven’t had the opportunity to try out the paid content, but there’s a lot here just in the free content to get me started. I just started learning Chinese almost a month ago, but I can already attest to how much Hello Chinese has improved my listening comprehension alone. For language immersion, I watch Chinese dramas on Viki Rakuten and within just a week of practicing on this app, I was able to understand entire sentences of speech without looking at the subtitles. Of course, you’re going to get out of this what you put into it, but as for my and my learning style, I’m very glad that I found this app!

Just wow. This app is crazy good. Make sure you have a notebook. It will help you remember what you learn (writing things down). I think the app offers a l lot for free (its really great) the premium+ is worth it.

Please revert to the older version. The new version is awful. It looks ugly. It doesn’t have some functions that i need.

I really enjoyed this APP and was really helpful. But the recent change of the layout is really bad that you cannot see the entire page and need to swipe to see the other choices while doing the quizzes which sometimes causes me to commit mistakes. Also the upgrade has become too expensive. Revert back the past layout and maybe the price of the app should be more reasonable.

I would give it five stars except for the fact that not all the characters show up in the character review. Something I just find a bit silly. Think of this review as 4 1/2 stars.

Best app I have tried

This app is like a game, I really like to play it. Since it is formed like a game it doesn’t feel like you absolutely need to get on it every day and it is really easy to pick back up if you lose your spot. It is also very fun just to speak back to the app.
