Uniquely Frightening

GamerCane

I like the thrill of movies, books, and games that try to get into your head. I like entertainment and stories that really draw you in. Everything about this medium and the way it was presented really works to pull the 'participant into the experience. The clue as to when the scenelets are finished (the subtle drumbeat) is unobtrusive yet effective. The way that the writer and reader of notes, books, journals etc. were overlayed and faded together added to that illusory but compelling feeling of connection to the story. I felt much more connected to these two characters, half-comic at times though they were (and must be). I can only hope that more games will be out in future, and I look forward to great things from this team. As a final note: as much as this may seem cheap, immitation is the highest form of flattery. If other developers out there are thinking of making use of this medium as a storytelling platform in this sense, copy shamelessly. And please, to this team: be kind to those who would follow the path you have so kindly blazed. This is very, very well-done, and I hope that it inspires more and more, from many sources.

Fantastic

This experience is a breath of fresh air at a time when most games are tired and predictable. Heathcote is immersive and engaging, and it's surprisingly enjoyable to lie down on the couch or in bed and play with your eyes closed. The audio is superb and creates a strong sense of place. This audio game deserves to evolve into a genre of its own that could become the third staple of a trifecta that also includes audiobooks and podcasts, both of which I also love. The length was also just right (I think about an hour or so?) I'm getting some Ossic X 3D headphones and super excited to try this with them.

It was pretty good

The story was okay, the whole interactive story through sound was a cool idea, the voice acting was pretty bad though. I was cringing at the voice acting a lot. Other than that, I enjoyed playing it.

Great idea, loved it

I tend to like creepy things and this story put me into it. It helps me feel what the characters are feeling, and I could almost see what was in the story and it very good audio story. You could play it again and make different choices to get a different ending as well. It's just awesome!!

Immersive Audio Storytelling

acawai

Good use of sound for world building. I thought the end was a bit rushed, and I don't think there's too much replayability. Still definitely a great experience.

Excellent

Entertaining audio drama

I liked the controls for the story. Simple swipe gestures, with built-in help accessed just by using two fingers instead of one. It was a quick listen, and though the story was pretty simple, the audio was very atmospheric and suitably creepy. The characters made me laugh aloud and their personalities were conveyed very well. It was a nice diversion and I'm glad I listened to it.
