Uniquely Frightening – Heathcote Review

I like the thrill of movies, books, and games that try to get into your head. I like entertainment and stories that really draw you in. Everything about this medium and the way it was presented really works to pull the 'participant into the experience. The clue as to when the scenelets are finished (the subtle drumbeat) is unobtrusive yet effective. The way that the writer and reader of notes, books, journals etc. were overlayed and faded together added to that illusory but compelling feeling of connection to the story. I felt much more connected to these two characters, half-comic at times though they were (and must be). I can only hope that more games will be out in future, and I look forward to great things from this team. As a final note: as much as this may seem cheap, immitation is the highest form of flattery. If other developers out there are thinking of making use of this medium as a storytelling platform in this sense, copy shamelessly. And please, to this team: be kind to those who would follow the path you have so kindly blazed. This is very, very well-done, and I hope that it inspires more and more, from many sources.
