Crashes

Shadow x7

It keeps crashing after playing for 30 seconds

Looks neat but... Crash! Crash!

Packetrider

iPhone SE can’t get past the beginning of the game without the app crashing and exiting.

Cool but needs work

Rickytickytocky

Cool concept, lots of fun. Unfortunately, games still crashes occasionally and some of the touch menus don’t function well when overlapping other menus.

Satisfying gameplay and quirky characters. What’s not to love?

I found this game on steam and was intrigued by the concept. Halcyon 6 combines base management with turn based combat both in ships as well as on the ground. It feels similar to xcom 2, as you play as the last humans fighting an alien threat by building up resource avenues and maintaining secure territory by assaulting the portals that spawn waves of chruul raiding parties. There is a sizable amount of ships and officers to choose from, each bringing unique abilities to the table. For example, engineering ships pack an attack called disassembly, which sends a swarm of tiny drones, which highly resemble a swarm of bees, to lacerate the enemy ship, inflicting a dot effect. It is worth the money if you are looking for an offline game that has satisfying turn based and base buildings gameplay.

Clever and nostalgic

Nevermore of Elrendel

Fun and clever game with strong influences from Star Control 2 and Master of Orion. This game succeeds at creating the storytelling and strategy that made those games so good. The storytelling is a fun progression with witty dialogue options. Who knew the desperate struggle to save the human race from extinction would often be so hilarious?! The strategy will look familiar to people who have played SC2 and MoO. There is some decent depth. You can play and have a fun time with or without exploring how deep the strategy can go. I am looking forward to trying other games from this team. Thanks for the great game!

Amazing game

This game is the best game I’ve ever played on the iPad I recommend this game to anybody who wants to have fun it’s just amazing I can’t recommend this enough it’s fun it’s tactical you have to use strategies and it can be a little hard but once you accomplish something if feels great I really recommend you get the game it’s an amazing game trust me.

$7 gone

Brakeme

Well with all the hype and reviews I threw in my dough. Absolute waste. Not a fan of turn based fighting. The graphics are slightly worse than retro.

Good but buggy

Imminent Storm

Game is really enjoyable. I can’t believe how much time I spend playing. But there are flaws. The interface isn’t perfect as has been pointed out on many reviews. You will often try to start a task and end up selecting an officer by accident negating everything you were trying to do. The start task menu is too close to the select officer menu which leads to that problem. Sending out fleets takes some getting used to but I’d actually leave that as is. The other problems are major slowdown & occasional crashing. Despite the update that supposedly fixed this issue it still happens. The slowdown becomes really problematic after playing half an hour or so. I still enjoy the game and hope these issues are fixed soon. Still recommend trying it to those who like jrpg with a sci fi and base management twist.
