Took my $ now feeds Animated ads!

S-curvy

Like many others here, I was an early user of this app and came to really like it and to rely upon it enough that I paid for the "Pro" version. Then about a year ago the app started having a permanent ad banner near the bottom of the screen. Today, I opened the app and found that the very irritating ad banner now sports animated/flashing ads!!!! OMG, this is the last straw: I'm going to replace Grocery Gadget and encourage Apple to drop this developer who has taken monies from people who in good faith believed they would receive something in return that was promised to be ad-free.

I use this app a lot

I really like this app… This app is been a very useful tool in my life..

Update issue fixed

Loved this app, update caused problems, hated it, another update fixed problems, love it again

Unfair to charge annually after charging pro rate for the app!

I would not recommend doing business with this company. They had a pro app for $5, which they may have stopped. But those of us that paid $5 for ad free are now getting ads unless we pay annually. It's not much money, but it screws the people that actually supported from the get go. Super shady.

Used to be great - don’t buy this

I have used this app for years and it has worked well. They instituted ads to pay for the backend server and such. They also added a yearly “subscription” to remove the ads which is fine with me because the app is (was) worth it. Now the ads remain on the iPhone version. They also removed the non-free version so there is no way to us the app without ads.

USED to be a great app

I have used this app for a number of years. I loved it and paid for the Pro version to get rid of the ads. Then, a couple of years ago, they said you had to pay a .99 annual subscription to remove the ads from the Pro version I had already paid for. Now, they took my .99 subscription in September, and I am now getting flashing ads. I asked for help and followed their advice. It did not work. I have sent two more requests for help with no reply whatsoever. Sadly, this has turned into a ripoff.

Used it for years, now I'm looking for a replacement

I used to love using this app. I've had it for years and have many lists as well as custom items. I've had the paid version for the majority of that time. I started experiencing the 'blanking out' of the screen that others have complained of some time ago, but just dealt with it. Now even the paid version has ads running along the bottom of the screen and covering up part of the list and it's gone from a functional app to a frustrating app. I'm done.

Scam

Was a great app that I was happy to pay for, but then you took away our paid app version and gave us an ad supported free app. I want what I paid for. No communication from your company about the change, I hope nobody supports any of your products. Untrustworthy company. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Very disappointed!

I have used the app for a LONG time and loved it. I had all my items categorized by aisle number in my local store. Then, with the iPhone IOS update, it would no longer open and a message said that the developer needed to update. I just today saw it in the App Store while searching for a new app so downloaded it and I’m so not going to be using it. The ads are extremely irritating. Off to search again ?

Used to be good

Version 5.2.1.1 takes many attempts (20+) in order for the app to open and stay open. Adding new items is a bit clunky.
