Yet another really well-done National Park app by Chimani. I love the interface because the easy access to each topic makes it an efficient tool for both planning a park visit quick reference when you're there. I feel confident using this app because the developers seem very dedicated and are very responsive when asked a question or given a suggestion. And no, I'm not a relative or beta-tester (dammit!) :D

Beautiful, inspiring app

Yet another gorgeous app from Chimani, this time serving as a guide to the Grand Canyon. Both practical and a joy to explore, the sound information, beautiful photography and well-conceived interface make this an app every visitor to this natural wonder would do well to utilize!

Very Informative!!

Short and sweet, this app has everything you need to know to plan your trip to the Grand Canyon. I love the real time event information like the Ranger walks and shuttle schedules. The only thing they left out of this is when to wake up and when to go to sleep. 5 stars totally!!

Awsome!!!

Most useful for folks who stay up on the rim...

My wife and I have hiked down to Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon nearly a dozen times, so we know our way around GCNP. For national park week, this app is/was free so I installed to check it out. The app provides real-time bus schedules which will be much appreciated when we emerge at Yaki Point, tired, dusty and wanting a bus ride back to our car at Bright Angel Lodge. That along with the friendly support from Chimani would be worth at least $2.99 to me! After digging into the app, it seems the target audience is the more casual visitor rather than hikers planning to go deep into the Canyon. For example, while trails are labeled and there are general descriptions, the "rest houses" and water on the trails themselves are not on the map. The lines for the trails do not appear detailed enough to get much more than a vague idea of where you're located. The "Auto Tour", with a picture of an automobile, featured prominently on the homepage gives a short description with a "tour guide" tone audio recording for several points of interest, all located up on the rim. I was hoping the size of the app was due to detail in the topo maps, but it seems the audio and photos are likely the main reason this app weighs in at 132 MB. The sunrise/sunset times would be a welcome bit of info for hikers starting their ascent, but these are only available for points located up on the rim too. Keep in mind that the majority of people do in fact stay up on the rim and may only venture a few hundred yards down the trails into this national treasure. If that's you, this app will likely be a useful resource, but it may be a disappointment if you are planning to hike deep into the Canyon.

A must!!

Download the free version of Grand Canyon Lite, basically has the same functionality. Better yet use the $4.99 to make a donation to the Grand Canyon Association.

Disappointed. Basic information like Sunset times are wrong!
