Not working well on iOS 15

I’ve deleted the app after too many appointments disappearing. (I also had deleted the native calendar app due to missing appointments.) For one of the latest disappearances, I received an email saying I deleted a meeting that I organized, which I didn’t. Participants emails which I didn’t add were listed in the email describing the calendar event. I was still able to join the meeting thanks to a separate email. Is it a security breach? A healthcare appointment also disappeared and one that was recurring that had Zoom information, gone. The only appointments that are consistently stable are ones created with third party apps. Another problem that is exclusively Google is that there is no longer a way to manage my multiple calendars on my phone without having duplicate events appearing when my desktop calendars show the other calendars. I’ve reduced having 4 repetitions by not showing all calendars on 2 accounts on my desktop, but on the phone I still have to deactivate accounts from the calendar. The ability to have all 4 accounts active and hide events from repeating has been taken away! I have to forego managing my personal account calendar on my phone, the events of which I can only manage from one of my work emails. (I run 2 businesses and have a job!) And now I can’t add personal appointments from my phone. There must be a workaround but since events have been disappearing, I’m going back to pencil and paper. —previous review— Years ago I tried Calendar only to be frustrated. But now that I have 4 different Google calendars for 4 different purposes, this app has helped keep all appointments. Other apps have shown a repetition of events because each Google calendar on my desktop shows all 4 calendars. But this app enables viewing of only one entry each. Also, the graphics are not as distracting as they used to be, something that I had complained about previously. Google listened and improved the app. Who can ask for anything more?

Notifications

Unicorn1972

This app is beautifully designed and organized. It is a great way to remind yourself of things but…… you don’t get any notifications. I have it set up for notifications on every event thirty minutes before. I have never once got a notification from this app and I have had it almost a year.

Google is evil. So simple, use DuckDuckGo.

Changes? System Account?

JBoyd1973

Not sure what was changed, but please fix it. First, all of my Apple Calendar events disappeared after being synced for years. Went looking around the accounts and saw the “system account” switch. Turned it on and now I have duplicates on everything. Went looking for information on this change and couldn’t find anything. I use Google Calendar for the family share capability across different phones. Please fix or explain the changes!

Horrible calendar!

Google used to be so good! I looked at many other negative reviews with the same concerns I have! WHAT on earth are you doing? So frustrating!

No notifications

fackustupid

I gave 1 star because I can’t give none. The app does not push notifications unless you keep it running in the back stage. I have missed several events because of this. Can’t you just make it as the gmail app?

I find this app useful however new update is horrible.

I like my task shown in the each date on the calendar. I have to download another app to see and adjust tasks. Please fix it

Desktop does NOT update App

Sunrnr

Overall I love this App. Today I almost missed an important meeting. I had made the event on my desktop - with alerts!! Unfortunately anything you add to the desktop does NOT upload to the app unless you open the app. NOT GOOD! Another negative to the app - it is cumbersome to set alerts! I tend to make the appt on the phone then go to the computer to set the alerts. Stupid really but it is the only way I have found to be sure the appt is both places and the alerts will work. An enhancement request - it would be nice to have rolling events. Many of my calendar reminders are to remind me to do something. I’d like to be able to mark those as completed. If I don’t mark it complete - it should roll to the next day. Repeat until marked as complete. I had this on a different calendar and it was so useful.

Freezes often

I use Google calendar for everything but the app makes me absolutely bonkers. It constantly freezes when trying to complete a task or reminder as well as when trying to add a new event/task/reminder. This has been going on the entire time I’ve had the app and I do need to use it so I have dealt with it but would love to see a fix for that someday.
