Terrible app, no savings!

I wanted to research prices in my brand new “GoodRX Gold” The first RX I searched needed fine-tuning in the name. So I went to “Support” and it answered my question. But there was no way to get back to the app! I was stuck in “Support”. I closed out the app and re-open it from my desktop. No-go. After being cycled through “do you want to open in the app?”(YES) It only opened the FREE GoodRX I shut down my phone to see if that would work. Nope. I got stuck in the App Store again which could only take me back to “Support”, and after being in the FREE version for a while, I somehow managed to get to the GOLD one. I think it was my random pushing of buttons that did it. I have no idea how it really worked. Now that I know that the prices are not better, and the app doesn’t work, I don’t understand why I would pay $9.99 a month. I’m out. Don’t do it!

Too much hassle for a subscription service

The Notorious t.i.g

First and foremost, GoodRx and GoodRx Gold have two separate logins. Which means, second, all my history, medications, saved coupons, etc., need to be re-created in Gold. Third, and this is my favorite part. Sometimes the Gold price is higher than the freebie app price. Meaning you can’t just rely on the subscription to always be cheaper. In fact, one of my medications is over $220/month MORE in Gold. That’s right, it’s more than double if I use the paid app. And since these “services” aren’t connected, i have to check the prices in both apps EVERY MONTH to get the best deal -right now-. Now, for most folks, that’s probably no biggie. I, however, have multiple chronic conditions and almost a dozen medications. Which basically means I spend an hour or two each month to compare prices even though this one company has all this information in a database that they oughta be able to just link. And don’t tell me this is too hard. I wrote an EBCDIC : AIX : ASCII conversion from three separate companies to link and compare databases back in the 80s. It compared hundreds of thousands records every night and was fully queryable the next morning so folks could put in anywhere from one to twenty parameters to have the database run the report and rank their options. For over 50,000 users worldwide. In the 1980s. This isn’t hard. Called customer service, and she repeated “different pharmaceutical companies have different contracts with different pharmacy companies,” at least six times. I wish this was an exaggeration. Um, ok? Both platforms are still CVS. The sites and apps are still branded GoodRx. Even if the companies and contracts and whatever are different, if I put in a prescription for myPill, 39mg, twice daily, for 90 days, the front end oughta be able to tell the backend to check both systems and report back to the user, hey, use GoodRx for this one because it’s $200 less than the subscription service price. It’s. Not. That. Hard. Especially because the freebie site will tell you, “Save this much more if you go Gold!” So clearly they can link the systems.

Lifesaver between projects

I do contract work, so I sometimes have short periods where I’m uninsured. I’ve used the free product often. This time, for an expensive medication, I took the free trial of Gold and saved 88% off retail...crazy!! BEFORE going Gold, check whether there’s a participating pharmacy near you. And beware: Gold prices are higher at CVS, possibly more than a different pharmacy in the free version. Suggestion: it would be nice to see prescription numbers in the purchase history.

Impeccable Customer Service!

I lost health coverage due to the ACA not actually being all that “AFFORDABLE.” I looked in to how I could get my much needed prescription at a cheaper price and found this! What would cost me over $80 out of pocket is only $21 thanks to this app!! Worth every penny and when I had an issue with Costco not accepting my GoodRX Gold card, GRX contacted them and had them refund the extra amount I paid then transferred me to a pharmacy they knew would be more cooperative! I’m thrilled! They’ve been nothing short of brilliant in their customer service department and they’re so kind and understanding. I am so grateful for their help. Best customer service model in existence. Thank you!!!

Use the Free app, don’t pay Gold

ElwoodPDownd

After using and loving the Free GoodRX app, I thought spending $10 a month for GoodRX Gold would save me even more money. I was wrong. The coupons in the free GoodRX version are consistently cheaper than the prices in Gold (at least at CVS). To make matters worse, after being burned a few times, I started checking the prices in each app before going to the pharmacy. The price CVS charged was double what GoodRX Gold said it would be.

App needs updated

Use regular GoodRx all the time and decided to try the gold version. I understand there are times where gold version may be higher than standard version. My problem with gold app is that it shows you the lowest price, and also the CVS price, but does not seem to have the ability to show you which pharmacies charge the lower price. Checked and the website that can be used by nonmembers does show you a list of those pharmacies when you run a search.

Stay with FREE App.

To start with .... 4 out of 5 medication I take were 50% higher at the same chain store pharmacy in GOLD than the free app. Upon calling customer service, I was told that different contracts with different pharmacies when I explained that it was the same pharmacy the CSR HAD SAME ANSWER..ITS LIKE GOODRx & GOODRx GOLD are two different companies, App really needs work it’s like this is a beta ver. I’m surprised they got through Apple review, and all this for $9.99 a month. App gets 1 Star for letting have free month .. ( maybe this is a beta ver ) So Account Deleted and app removed from Phone !

Worthless app if you can’t login

I initially signed up using my Facebook login. The GoodRx Gold app doesn’t allow a user to sign in using Their Facebook profile, so it doesn’t work!

Great App, Great Prices.

I have been using GoodRx for many years now and it has saved me a ton of money. There are times I don’t even use my insurance because the scripts are much cheaper through GoodRx. Recently I signed up for the GoodRx Gold Card to my amazement they saved me an additional $30 a month on the already good deal I was getting. Overall for something so cheap and the outrageous cost of scripts now a day this is definitely a great app and will recommend to anyone that needs. As for the little complaints I see below about the app giving ppl problems I have not had any problems to this day. Keep up the good work and thanks again GoodRx!
