Update: Why is it not updated for iPhone X yet? It seems outdated and there hasn’t been an update for a year! I used it for many years and it is getting better and better. It is stable, reliable and offers a lot of useful functionality and controls. It is one of the few apps I keep admiring and using all the time for work and home for files, books, videos and others. Recently they added the security features as well.
Disappointed! No migration of files from previous version.

Upgraded my iPad to iOS 11 and could no longer use my old version of GoodReader and I see an error message saying the developer has to upgrade goodreader in order for it work with iOS 11. Went to the App Store and could not find it in the list of Apps to upgrade. Instead found it in the store as a new purchase. Ok fine, need to pay another 4.99 no big deal. Launched the new version of the app and ouch! All my old goodreader PDFs are gone and not accessible anymore and the old goodreader app does not launch at all under iOS 11. So I’m stuck? May I missed some memo about this? Com’on goodreader developers! What’s up with this no backward compatibility thing? This just might be my last goodreader purchase if it does not get straightened out. Very disappointed.

This is an excellent app for annotating documents; I’ve used this app for at least 4 years now years to complete and sign legal documents on my iPhone/ iPad and then email them back to the person/business organization. This app has helped me through grad school and with the purchase of my first home in California. This app is the best pdf annotating app in the AppStore for iOS devices. The developers updated the app and the email feature is working again very well. My previous review: The email feature no longer works. It keeps giving an error message "unable to send." I had no idea this feature stopped working and had several important documents "pending and unsent." This emailing feature does not work anymore on the iPhone or iPad.

This has been my No.1 all around goto app since its creation! There are other apps that do this and do that, but the ONE app that should live on your iphone and/or iPad is GoodReader!

I really like this program. It is quite powerful. My only complaint is that the menu disappears too quickly after calling it up. Should have a button to dismiss it when done. I would not trade it for another program though.

This thing allows me to read/markup many types of files with ease. There is more that it can do that I have not mastered but it is well worth the few bucks.
The Swiss Army knife of PDF readers is a understatement of its capabilities.

I just received the apple pencil and it works great in PDF DOCUMENTS. It works with the good reader annotations. The pencil tip turn on the functions. The freeform tool works great. With a drawing program it world excellently. I use a new iPad Pro to read music as it has a bigger screen. And it is awesome. The music displays on the whole screen as the same size is the music was printer on. On landscape it displays 2 pages at a time. The text is very readable. This is the very best PDF reader on the market. GoodReader version 4 is a major upgrade to a program that's a program and not a app. That functions that has been add is another program in itself. As a musician I can open a 1200 page Fakebook and copy 20 songs ,(for example), for a set list , rearrange them in a different order ,rotate them if necessary , and add notations. Additionally the ability to not only do a readable thumb nail page preview , but a whole book thumb nail page readable preview. The Swiss Army knife of PDF readers is a understatement of its capabilities. This is a ten star program. In fact I can use one app to select a set list and extract them instead of sending a Fakebook over to another app, select the songs,which if you aren't careful you can mix up the order very easy. Then you can export the file to GoodReader . The migration is a very fast tool for transferring the 3.plus files to version 4. When I upgraded to version 4 I didn't have a lot of space on my version 3 iPad so I couldn't take advantage of the migration assistant. Today I upgraded a friends iPad Air iPad to version 4 and his 5 gig of files took less then 2 minutes. The GoodReader company does the right things when they do a Major upgrade. I was talking to a fellow musician about my system of using an iPad with the GoodReader for reading music playing. The two major advantages are 1. You don't have to put the names of songs and page numbers for each book. 2. This is the only PDF reader that can display two pages side by side in landscape mode. 3. A new add feature is you can use wireless page turners with this new upgrade. If you are a lecturer or a musician you can turn a page with a silent click of your foot.
