This rpg brings back a lot of memories! I love this game! The only problem with it are the controls, which turns up to be a very irritating problem in the long run. I have died countless times just because of the simple fact that the controls are a bit lacking and that my guy won't move/turn when I need him to. Overall still fun, a classic, but controls deinitely need work.

Horrible Controls

BPA_

I could not stand the horrible controls.

Great game

Todmude

This is a great classic game from a long time ago. Everything is as I remember it from playing in those days. The only real caveat is that the on screen controls get in the way sometimes. Overall however this game is excellent.

Icon

Great game! Could you guys revert back to the old icon, the new one looks incredibly cheap :(

A semi-classic returns

Markadius

Like others here, I have fond memories of Golvellius from the Sega Master System. Essentially a Legend of Zelda clone (did this come first?) eith some side-scrolling stages thrown in. DotEmu has done a stellar job porting this game to iPhone and keeping my nostalgia riding high. The touch controls take some getting used to, but end up working pretty well. Wouldve preferred razor-sharp pixels to a slight blur filter, but it's not a deal-breaker. Great game, great port!

Great Port, Bad Controls

TheRealFisky

I loved playing this game on my ols Sega Master System back in the late 1980s/early 1990s. The nostalgia factor never delluded me into thinking this wasn't some glorified Legend of Zelda clone but I still really enjoyed the game. I really enjoyed the sound redesign and the cheesy, 8-bit graphics still get the job done surprisingly well (even though the character doesn't turn around when in the 2D side-scrolling areas). Unfortunately, the touch-screen controls are infuriatingly awkward and severely detract from the play experience. This, coupled with the inability to rotate the screen to a more accommodating orientation (I prefer playing with the Home button of my iPad being on the right) makes this game nearly unplayable for me.

Fun Classic 8-Bit Zelda-esque Game Marred Only by Touch Controls

WakeOfPoseidon

I bought this game a few months back out of sheer nostalgia - I played this game back in the day on the Sega Master System to get my Zelda fix (I didn't have a NES). It's a good game, especially if you pine for classic action-adventure games. The dungeons aren't as puzzle-y as Zelda's were, making it the inferior game, but it is colorful and full of cool different areas to explore. Prior to this latest update, the emulation and UI overlay was barebones - functional, but nothing to brag about. The latest update surprisingly includes Game Center support (achievements) and a vastly improved UI. The only nitpick about the new UI controls is that they aren't as transparent as the original barebones UI, so it can be a little more difficult to see in the corners. Touch virtual pad/button still has problems, but that's more of a issue with the device than the game. I've only played through the 2nd "area", and seems like one of the achievements is glitched - I didn't get the one for buying the first crystal for some reason. If you have no interest in classic 8-bit action adventures, this won't appeal to you. But if you do, this fits the bill if you can deal with some occasionally flaky virtual pad touch controls.
