Great Port, Bad Controls – Golvellius - The Valley of Doom Review

I loved playing this game on my ols Sega Master System back in the late 1980s/early 1990s. The nostalgia factor never delluded me into thinking this wasn't some glorified Legend of Zelda clone but I still really enjoyed the game. I really enjoyed the sound redesign and the cheesy, 8-bit graphics still get the job done surprisingly well (even though the character doesn't turn around when in the 2D side-scrolling areas). Unfortunately, the touch-screen controls are infuriatingly awkward and severely detract from the play experience. This, coupled with the inability to rotate the screen to a more accommodating orientation (I prefer playing with the Home button of my iPad being on the right) makes this game nearly unplayable for me.
