Decent Product, Instructions Stink

BikerFunJoe

It took a while, but I got my system working. I am a systems engineer by trade and it still required a bit of effort on my part. I can see how a non-technical person might never get things working if they were relying on the included instructions or the poor “Developer Website” linked in the iTunes Store. They were obviously written by a Chinese (where it was manufactured) person with a poor understanding of English and/or no documentation skills. The app itself looks like most I’ve seen from that part of the world, just barely serviceable. But, what is a person to do? This app is the only thing available to control the lighting system. There certainly isn’t an API for "rolling your own"

Details, details, details

So there was one post that explained how to connect to the GloTEC WiFi. **connect the speaker(even if you don't plan on using it.), connect to it via Bluetooth, then connect to the GloTEC WiFi. ** This worked perfect the first time I tried it. Mind you, this was after a hour or so of search the net and finding nothing.

What a box of junk!!!!!!!!!!! Out of the box and doesn't work! Instructions are miss leading and NO support!!!!

CRAP

I've read the previous reviews and tried to locate the Glotec wifi and it's nowhere to be found. Tried on multiple devices, just as the previous reviews stated. No support anywhere online and customer service calls are pointless. Those jackals are of no use.

Junk

Don't buy The app does not do anything in conjunction with the light show BUT the remote at lowes on there display works perfectly with the system BUT a remote is not an option not even to purchase so my question is why are they selling a product in store that is not like the display they are using to demonstrate the product Simple because the app does not work with the system and they hope you just keep it and let the lights do what they want and not return it to the store for them to dispose of later

Per-mature product launched

Fun Christmas Light

Must read owner's manual before using product to minimize frustration. I have a T6 model. This review is for the app as well as my overall experience with the system. I have been a system/production engineer for 15 years. Pro: 1. All 16 functions work nicely once connected to the Glotec Wifi. 2. Like the speed and brightness adjustment features. 3. Like the Bluetooth speaker feature. Speaker's sounds quality is not too bad. Con: 1. Would like to have more than 3 channels. 2. Music doesn't play smoothly on speaker even my iPhone is within 5 feet of the Main. 3. Sensor function needs big improvement. Light show seems to work ok only, and Main controller has to be really close to speaker and speaker volume needs to be loud for Main to pick up the vibrations. 4. Custom programs don't work until app is closed. This has been a big disappointment for me... Maybe my unit is bad? 5. Speed and brightness are not part of custom program that can be saved. This would make it a better product. 6. Default speed setting for all functions are too fast, and it can make one nausea. 7. When app is launched, it doesn't show the function at which the system is playing. 8. The 3 outlets on Main are not labelled, so it can cause confusions. A decent product, but have a lot of bugs to be ironed out for the next released - the company has almost a whole year to work on it, so no excuses. I am looking forward to the next generation, hopefully less buggy than the T6 and with it-would-be-nice features mentioned above included!

Works like a charm

Works perfect. The Bluetooth speaker alone is worth what I paid for the system.

Works great with the right setup

The instructions are not clear and it took some time to figure out that you needed to select the GloTEC wifi network as well as GloTEC Bluetooth in order for the App to work. Once I had them both selected I was able to choose different patterns as well as "Sensor Mode" which the lights kept time with the music. This is a fine product for the price range. I didn't expect the same functionality of the much higher priced controllers, so it met my expectations.

Speed selector increment of 10 is limiting

donbraffitt

I bought the system today at Lowes, and the user manual (page 10) has details and a screenshot on choosing the GloTEC Wifi network. The app could give more flexibility in controlling light displays if the speed selector used an increment of 1 instead of 10.
