The rules are simple. View the 360 degree location by tapping the screen and dragging your finger to rotate the view. You can look around for landmarks, writing, or other hints to help you guess the location. Then toggle over to the world map by tapping the map on the corner of the screen. Touch on the map where you want to guess the location. Two pins will drop, revealing the actual location in comparison to your guess. You will be given the actual distance between the location and your guess. The closer your guess is to the actual location, the more points you score.
There are predetermined locations (currently 40) which are worth 5000 points minus the number of miles your guess is off by. Once you have guessed all predetermined locations, you will be given random locations. These locations will be worth 500 points minus the number of miles you are off by. Be sure to update GeoTest frequently so that you can play new predetermined locations and get a higher total score. Your total score between all predetermined and random location will be your score that is sent to Game Center for you to compare with friends and other worldwide players.
GeoTest requires an internet connection to play, as it is pulling data from a web view. You can use Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, etc.
If GeoTest is crashing while trying to load a map, try restarting your device. There is a bug with the web view that we are currently trying to work out, but this is a good workaround for now.
Lots of fun but the game gives you 4783 points for being 11 miles away and 4121 for being 935 miles away. The scores should be more representative.
After 30 games, the pictures won't load or the full panoramic version won't be available. Too bad, makes playing a little difficult ! Otherwise great game. Looking forward to an update to fix these issues
Really cool game but the pictures for the random locations won't load after the first 30 predetermined ones, hope it's fixed next update
I had a lot of fun until I went through the 30 panoramic pics and then nothing else would load. Guess I will delete.
Great game but a few bugs. Some locations/answers are actually far from where the street view was taken. For example, for the Fuji golf course street view, the game put the answer over 500 miles from Fuji on a university in the middle of a city. This just makes it hard to get the highest scores. Otherwise, great fun.
