I don't know how, but this actually works. I had to have Radioactive Iodine (RAI) Therapy this week to kill my thyroid cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes. My husband, being funny, uploaded this app. The closer he got to me, the crazier it went. It was pretty funny. He aimed it at himself or one if the kids, nothing happened. Again, I don't know how my phone can judge my radioactivity, but we're having a lot of fun with this app...hopefully not for long though. ;)

It actually works and those who saying it doesn't work you have to put your iPod touch or iPhone toward downward then it detects the radioactive.

I held my iPhone up to my dog and it went crazy, that does explain why he has three eyes and ten rivals though... I swear, the next time he jumps on my lap we are changing his name to calimari.

It uses the accelerometer. Turn the phone upside down to receive a massive dose wherever you are lol. Waste of time. The CCD sensor in the camera would make a half baked radiation detector at best. Deleting

I understand that this is a novelty app. The graphics are quite good, and I don't really mind the row of ads at the bottom, given that this is a free app. But the deal breaker for this app is the sound effects. The Geiger clicks play in an obvious 2 second loop. The author should have used a single click sound and increased the rate of clicks with a random time offset to produce a more realistic sound effect. Uninstalled. I'm off to write my own app, and do it right.

Wave your iphone around and the needle will move randomly. It just uses the accelerometer. Not to mention that your iphone does not have the hardware required to detect radioactivity. Hey at least i didnt waste my money on it.
