Easy to use, understand, and hardly any issues
Military Working Dog Handler
The app and collar are the most unique I’ve come across the market. I am a military working dog handler and garmin is the military’s preference in electric collars. This one In particular is used for my house dog and I feel it does everything needed. The issues I run across is that the refresh time is slow when connecting. That can be fixed by updates when knowledge is gained. Besides that I do think the collar will shock at random but I can’t tell. I’ve had the collar for about 6months and I have it only on during the day and when I walk my German Shepard off leash. I find the range good and knowing your limits is key in teaching a young dog to stay within your range. I just taught the pup to march next to me. I WISH THE APP WAS ABLE TO BE USED ON MY APPLE WATCH!!! That is my only request.

Before the update I could toggle bark limiting on and off. This was helpful since I could go in and turn it off quick if the dogs (2 in the house) decided to start playing (he’s allowed to bark when they play). Before the update the activity tracking seemed much more accurate. It now tells me my dogs are “very active” for about 12-14 hours a day...which I know isn’t near correct, especially when they’re “very active” during sleeping hours, which is when they’re in their kennels. There is no distinction between the colors for “active” and “very active” either, which is odd. I’ve tried resetting the collar and the app with no avail.

The app seems to have a really hard time efficiently providing device status. When my wife turns on the bark limiter I look at n my app to check and it says it’s off, sometimes it says it’s on but never works when he’s barking. You should make a better device handoff feature for multiple users.
Had trouble connecting at first.

The coding of this app must have been outsourced to somewhere without computers. Whoever approved this must not understand how apps/ tech should work. Kinda buggy/ pathetic all around.
WORST APP OR PRODUCT EVER!!!

It took two weeks after trying multiple times on different days to set up the keep away tags. I bought two of them (with two collars) and I am still not able to get one of them to connect. I changed batteries, changed rooms, different areas of my house, etc. - WILL NOT CONNECT! Since the update, I lost connection with both collars to the app. I updated both collars by plugging into the computer. I reset my app, dejected and reloaded my app- still cannot connect either collar now. Then, I called Garmin Tech Support - said 2-3 minute hold time. After 20 minutes, a tech came on, took my name and email address, put me on hold, and the next thing I know, he connected me to a survey to see how well I did. I was so frustrated, I just hung up!! Worst product / app ever!! Do not recommend!

I can’t get anything in this app to work. I’ve tried resetting it several times and it doesn’t help. I’m not the type of person that normally leaves reviews so this should tell you just how bad this app is.

The software and/or device are very unreliable. Cool idea if it worked but I can’t change any settings. Can’t reset and retry because it automatically connects Bluetooth and no ability to forget device and reinstall. This is not user error just buggy software or device.

This app is incredibly easy to use. Setting up and connecting to your collars is done in a few steps. I don’t understand how others are having trouble with this. Now I don’t have to look for a remote when training I can just use my phone. The keep away tag is a great ad on. The optional remote is just icing on the cake. Could not be happier with this app.
