Gameception allows you to download a number of different game versions following the familiar old-school first person shooter model and play them in one easy-to-maneuver place! It's a game within a game!
Based off the Doom Classic source code, Gameception lets you play hundreds of different “mods” (in the form of .WAD files) on your iOS device (must be PrBoom compatible!), with a variety of versions to choose from.
Gameception starts you off with "Freedoom" and allows you to download additional levels/games online. Just hit "Manage" in Gameception and you can easily download other levels and games. All you have to do is search the web (using Gameception), find a mod that you like, and download it! Once downloaded, simply tap the game to enable play.
If you already have such a .WAD file (like Doom™ or Doom II™) on your computer, transfer it over with Dropbox or iTunes File Sharing.

I want you to put multiplayer mode please and I want to be online and local and to join a server download the files you don't have and you can play coop or free for all.Please add a new version of prboom (PRboomplus)Update the game and make a new version for latest iPhones.

Nothing compares to Gameception in its ability to put Doom WADs on a mobile device. The controls are solid, the UI is simple, and the game runs well. It’s sad however that I might never play it again because of compatibility problems. I hope the developer will update it someday!

You can play Doom 2 with this! You just have to transfer over your old doom2.wad file with Dropbox (iTunes File Sharing supposedly works too). Really fun!

A great app- works fantastic! The only suggestion I would have is the controls seem to be a bit on the sensitive side- it'd be perfect if the movement sensitivity was adjustable.

I only downloaded this because I was under the impression it played nes n64 and snes wads. Although it doesn't say it here, it only works with prboom compatible wads. Very disappointing as I have 0 interest in playing several different modded versions of doom. Thumbs down!!!!!

Totally worth it! You can play old fps games like Doom and Chex quest (chex quest is still my favorite game!) :) you can even do any other game from your pc (same format). Totally worth it!!

This app is amazing, as it can play a multitude of DooM WADS and even Chex Quest. One problem I have is with Freedoom, not the app. The imp and baron's melee attack is ear-shattering and physically hurts me. Love, Reddit.
