Funny, Smart, Atmospheric, Sexy, Scary Masterpiece of a Game!

This is the game to end all games. If you love to be transported to another world when you play a game, then this is it! Gabriel Knight is an incredibly well written game with great characters, and an even better mystery. Set in New Orleans pre-Katrina, Gabriel is a not very successful author and bookstore owner with a wicked sense of humor on the trail of a voodoo murder mystery that quickly becomes very real. The locations are immersive, with tons of detail and interesting things to see and do, and real characters to interact with. The gameplay is natural and easy on the iPad. I envy anyone playing it for the first time!

What a delightful game!

I noticed a bug with skipping dialogue (it often resulted in two characters speaking at the same time), but other than that, this game was perfect! Wonderful storyline, graphics, and UI. Although some reviewers complained about the voice acting, I personally didn't mind it. Looking forward to future ports!

Exactly what the App Store needed

I've been missing a REALLY GOOD point and click mystery in the App Store. This is it. I never played this back in the day - I was a kid when it came out and it was too mature for me. I have, however, been a fan of point and click adventure mysteries for years and it's rare to find one with an intriguing story, voice acting, an expansive world, and challenging puzzles. Actual detective work, too! Hands down my favorite mobile game so far. It has a nice built in hint system that only spoils as much of the game as you want it to. My only suggestion would be to make some hotspots farther apart. This appears to be a leftover from the PC version, but precise clicking is not as easy when using one's fingers.

Terrific Game...

Catchafairy

I played all of the original Gabriel Knight games and loved them, but IMO this was the best. I purchased it for my PC when it came out last year and I couldn't wait for the iPad release. Will I pay for the extra days? No, because I have them on my PC. But if you don't own the PC version, the extra days are worth every penny. The narrator's voice is annoying, so I turned it off. Nobody can possibly compete with the great Tim Curry who voiced the original, but this guy does a pretty good job. For those of you complaining that you only get "Day 1" for free, what do you expect for nothing? Seriously. Two big thumbs up!!

Great!

This is a great classic point and click game. Anyone who is a fan of broken sword or monkey island will love this. Hope you guys bring the rest of the Gabriel knight series to iOS!

Strong game even after all these years

Monster Mack

Gabriel Knight was really fun back in the day and I love the improvements and porting for the iPad. Some of the quest solutions aren't quite intuitive, but the in-game hints are great. It remains really fun and atmospheric. Here's hoping we get an iPad sequel.

AMAZING!!

Love this game! Definitely worth the money. This was my first time ever playing a Gabriel Knight game and it was by far my favorite adventure game! I wish there were more games like this available on iOS. I hope developers keep making classic point and click adventure games for iOS!

Wonderful

I'm so happy and grateful this game has been resurrected for the iPad! I played it on floppy disks and loved it then and loved it now. It's a real story with real mysteries to solve, varied clues and puzzles, a world of interesting locations to visit and characters to talk to, and just plain fun to play. I was completely engaged. There's a real learning curve to the gameplay, though, and I was helped by an online walkthrough that taught me certain things about how to play. I won't add them here for fear of spoiling. But I nearly deleted the game in the free part because I didn't understand quite how to play. Once I got a few tips, though, I was off and running and spent days with SotF like I would with a good book, always looking forward to getting back to it. Worth every penny of the purchase price to play through to the end! Thank you, developers!

Angel Heart Movie

This game is so awesome! It was inspired by the movie Angel Heart with Mickey Rourke. That alone is so cool. I remember the movie and buying this game my sophomore year at U of M. It's just great that they re released this!!! I watched the movie on Netflix again tonight and thought about this game!

Great port of an old classic

Timmayyyyyyyy

This was a great buy. Gorgeous graphics, not buggy, and challenging puzzles at times. Sometimes I definitely resorted to reading an Internet walk through because it's been so long since I played the original. I agree that the voice acting is pretty humorous. I appreciated that you can see all the interactive parts on the screen, and that the journal can also provide hints. Interesting way of charging for the game; I guess selling it in chunks of days helps not scare people away with an upfront $10+ price tag.
