It has been several months since the prior review complaining that this app does not work. I just downloaded it and it is still broken.
WARNING do not upgrade this app especially if you have purchased in app magazine issues! I just updated the app and now my library is empty and even though I can select the issue on the front page and select read from there the iPad screen goes black. To the publisher, either fix this or refund all my in app purchases.
Buying this app will give access to a single magazine. The interface is very slow and the articles in magazines are not useful to professionals. I downloaded an issue about wood finishing as their feature article just to find out the article was 3 pages long and was going to be continued in other issues... I just wasted my money : (
It would be nice if consumers had recourse to a refund or so e other compensation as this publishers simply stole my money.
I truly enjoy this app, however the magazine itself could use some improvements. I never had a problem with this app. I read his magazine on my iPhone. it is very convenient and very well put together. I also subscribe to 6 other different woodworking magazine apps. Therefore I can relate. Now about the magazine itself. On one hand the choice for furniture exhibition is excellent. Really inspiring and motivating. I really enjoy that part. Sometimes it makes me say "wow!!!" Some of the pieces of furniture are amazing. On the other hand there are a few issues that I find annoying. One of them is that if the magazine is showing how to make something, it never shows the whole process in detail. The magazine Needs more technical details shown and described. Sometimes It leaves me wondering how this or that specific part was made. And I mind u that I am a professional woodworker/furniture/cabinet maker from U.S. Also the magazine needs more detailed pics. One picture says a thousand words. Also nice to have a numbered pictures with conforming numbered explanation per picture on the side or something similar to that. But overall I highly recommend this magazine. I used to buy it in the local book store for double the price, u are better of subscribing it via this app since you can check it out on iPad.
Great projects, great techniques and great authors put F&C up there with Fine Woodworking and Popular Woodworking! I had a print subscription for years. Now I like the ease of the digital subscription. It is much less expensive too. Sometimes downloads can be a bit twitchy; but other than that - a good app and a great woodworking magazine!
