Terrible balance

ZomgHngrGmzFanFoLife!

The game constantly punishes the player. You buy weapons and they get disabled. You buy shields and they get bypassed. You don't have enough points to have a balanced ship but the enemy has such random combinations of weapons and upgrades that every third ship is a perfect counter and you get brutally punished. The game is unreasonably difficult. Even on easy it is too difficult. I absolutely despise this game after playing it through once. I like the idea of it but after a few minutes it just beats you in the face with how terribly it is balanced. A waste of money. Until the developers gather better analytics on the player experience and use those to better adjust combat and upgrade balance you should look to several strong competitors in the genre to spend your money.

Easy level is Too Hard

James2fun

This game design is great except for the difficulty levels. They need a super easy level to make it more fun. I get tired of dying so quick on easy level. I can't recommend the game for that reason. But it is such a minor design issue, they could fix it if they just doubled the reward system.

Fun but very enraging

Sad pvz player :(

This is a great game...but...it has easy, normal, and hard modes that should be called hard, too hard , and die in the first round. After playing for days straight I got to the final battle once on easy and got destroyed in the second round boss battle. I don’t mind loosing but even when you get good at the game it’s virtually impossible to beat or even get to the boss battle on anything other than “Easy” fun but getting destroyed over and over makes this game loose its appeal.

Outstanding Simulation!

YGlen

Highly recommended for those that enjoy challenging scenarios in a dynamic environment. If you've ever wanted to command a starship, look no further!

The definitive version...

EgeBamyasi89

...of one of the most unique and downright fun games. After years of owning this game I can always return to for a little (perilous) jaunt into deep space. This game was basically made for a touch screen. Definitely challenging as all get out, but the minute to minute gameplay is gripping, fun and charming.

Finally Bought this Game... no regrets.

Lukalot

Eternally replayable, lots simple ships systems can lead to the development of complex strategies, immersive randomly generated stories, and, yea, buy it. Id say this should be your new slogan but its too long XD. I havent beat the game. I’ve died about 16 times and im still replaying (havent won yet)

Cloud save support needed!

Punto_ITA

Amazing game, but got a new iPad and had to start from scratch. Please add cloud save support so that saves can sync across devices!

Addictive but unbalanced

Lucid Reflections

I've been playing this game off and on for years. When I need to solve a problem or just stop my brain it's either this or chess. I love how the developers made the interface and keep you wanting to play. Other reviews here that write how unbalanced and random this game is are 100% correct. The frustration of the random luck is the intrigue. That said I do have one *major* gripe with this game. Not sure if an update did this or if it took me a long time to notice. The unfairness of how the AI does not follow the rules. For example, I cannot FTL jump if my engines are damaged, however the enemy can FTL jump with both engines and helm in red damage. On fire. Very often 75-100% of my shots will miss and 100% of enemy shots hit even when I have vastly superior maneuver numbers. I'm asking the developers to do something about the AI not following the game rules. Because of the unnecessary frustration of that I cannot give this game 5 stars, though without these AI cheats I'd give it 6.

In my top three games of all time.

With over 130 hours spent playing this game, and thoroughly enjoying every second of it, it feels unfair to just pay ten dollars for it. Therefore, I'm buying this version in addition to the PC edition that I already owned, and I will be buying the soundtrack soon. Thank you to Subset Games and Ben Prunty for creating a masterpiece.

Too hard

Leebo69

Game always finds a way to cheat and kill you. No way to win, takes the fun out to constantly have to start over from the very beginning.
