The two armies take turns building and commanding units on a grid-based map. The objective is to defeat the enemy army. There are two ways to defeat an opponent: destroy every one of the opponent's units on the map or capture the opponent's headquarters. The terrain on a map affects unit range of movements and the defense attributes of units stationed in that terrain. Capturing cities and enemy buildings will give the player new fundings at the beginning of each turn, with which the player can create a variety of new units (soldiers, tanks, planes, ships...) to gain power over his opponent.

The game features:
* Revive great battles of the second World War in a tense Solo Campaign
* 26 missions
* 15 different Units : Soldiers, Tanks, Planes, Ships...
* 3 difficulty levels
* Cross Platform Online Turn-based multiplayer using Facebook
* Beautiful HD Graphics

Good game, but some flaws

First, I just want to point out ALL of the glitches with the Game Editor. I love how you put it in this game, but there are so many times my game glitches or crashed. Like I was creating a game, and I decided to test it, so I played and there were bridges EVERYWHERE. This is a great game, and the campaign is pretty simple but hard. (and fun) I do have a couple ideas to make it a better game: 1. More buildings, decorations, etc I think that you should add some more “War-themed” building and decorations, such as bunkers, Which could be captured but be able to shoot, and trenches, which could provide cover for anyone in them. 2. Trains I know that the Germans used a lot of trains in WW2 and WW1, so I think you should add some. My idea is that a train station should be a new building. You will be able to attach train tracks, which could work like roads, out any side. If road and train tracks meet they could pass through. When you enter the train stations menu, you can build a train. Select one, and the train will appear inside the train station. Then you can move across any tracks connected to the station. Ideas for types of trains: -Cargo Train (Light health, Works like a landing craft or transport truck) -Light Armored Train (Light Health, Light artillery attack) -Heavy Armored Train (Heavy Health, Heavy artillery attack) 3. Commanders Commanders are slightly more resilient, and deal a little more damage. Not too much else to say

Fun, but glitches

I’ve been playing back and forth with my brother via separate devices, but now neither he nor anyone else is able to get a request for a new game to work.

Perfect game

It is a strategy game about the Second War. We can control our army fighting against the German army. It is a great challenge to win the battle without death. And we can play it with our friends on the internet or by using the same device. We all like to play this game.

Short, slow, and filled with bugs
Ratings hostage

Basically a direct copy of advance wars, only set in world war 2. The game itself is decent, but I'm giving it a low rating because it's incredibly short and riddled with bugs. Bug examples: if you get impatient with the slow animations and want to skip, the menu button is the same size, color, and location as the skip button. If you hit the menu button accidentally before it goes into the battle animation, you have to force quit the app. Another bug example: you can't get 3 stars on some missions (operation overlord, for example). Even on replay with no casualties, I got 3 stars the second time through, but the stars weren't awarded on the campaign map. Yet another bug: occasionally number indicators from some sprites persist in one location even after moving a unit. I would've rated the app higher, but these are really amateurish mistakes. Also, on the bigger missions it takes a couple minutes for the ai to take its turn. Not worth $3. Maybe $1.

Multi-Player

I like this game.. I played a couple of people in multiplayer.. but now to take my turn, the game just sits there trying to connect, so i cannot even take my turn in that mode! I have deleted app and re-installed it, but it still won't connect in multiplayer! This has been going on for months... it needs fixed! I will change star rating when you fix these bugs.

Closet game yet...

Closest thing to Advance Wars I've found in six years of searching. Absolute must-have for true fans like me.

Multiplayer is unplayable
Prefontim1981

My wife and I tried to play multiplayer game but the game invitations won't send .we eventually got into a game but I can't move any of my units also after ending the turn it won't recognize that the move is over on the other phone

Fun and buggy

Fun game. A great clone of 'Advance Wars'. Unfortunately, it's very buggy and unpolished. Bad grammar, letter kerning, and writing make this game feel amateurish. Please fix it!

Entertaining, but barebones and brief

This is a great tactical game in the vein of Advance Wars. (Note: it is NOT a knockoff. The genre is older than AW, and this doesn't have COs nor their powers.) You command a variety of units in a WWII setting in the European theatre. The units are interesting and diverse, so the rock-paper-scissors of this genre is in tact. There are also units of similar design but different function (e.g. infantry vs. mech). The production facilities are also different from AW so that you have a barracks separate from a factory. The unit balance is acceptable. Unfortunately, you cannot check damage before committing to a move. If you move, you move. You then have the choice of attacking or not, and you may move all your units before attacking with another unit. Not being able to check damage is slightly annoying, but being able to move other units around before attacking with one is convenient, where perhaps one unit is in another's way, but you want the second unit to attack first. You move the first, move and attack with the second, then attack with the first. Multiplayer is barebones, and part of that is the small community of players currently playing. It functions, and I have hopes it improves in the future. This is a genre long overdue on mobile devices, and with Front Wars, we finally have a glimmer of hope that it has arrived.
