A must have app for guitarists

Bobby Hartnett

Best instrument learning app I’ve come across. Simple and effective way to learn the fretboard. Has helped my playing and understanding tremendously.

Fret trainer

I was hopeful that this App would interact with the guitar ... basically to hear the strings played. Still worth the $$$ paid to help me remember the fretboard notes.

Helped me learn the notes on the bass really quick!

Such a great tool for getting familiar with the neck of your bass/guitar!

Great teaching tool!

Love this app, great design and a convenient tool to learn the fretboard. Four stars only because the “play note sounds” feature isn’t working on my iPhone 12.

Very usefull

Heres an idea for the next update-add an option to play the note sound before the user finds it on the fret board. This will help ear training.

Good but needs some fixes

By far the best app of its kind I’ve tried, but needs a grand staff option for the fretboard and notes game. Also that game shows notes in the incorrect octave. The first string on a guitar is E4, not E5.

Stellar graphics - effective exercises

BuffaloShrimp

This is far and away the best graphic representation of a fretboard I have ever seen. The screen is uncluttered. The fretboard and symbols are large and easy to read via the iPad on the music stand. The exercises are equally well designed - each simple and effective. It doesn’t have audio transport functionality - meaning, it won’t roll through scales with you. Fine. Don’t need it. And, perhaps, even glad it doesn’t. I prefer the simplicity. And the interval exercises are making me a fretboard boss! Super for Nashville number system. I do wish the scales were grouped by type (ie Church modes, symmetrical) rather than alphabetically, though. And the addition of a small wheel to change keys via cycle of 4ths stationed near the fretboard would be most welcome. Otherwise, Wow! Thanks for the excellent application.

one major flaw

Squanchy187

Love the app. So much that I paid for the addons. Only to realize this app has one major flaw for which I’d advise any guitar player against it. I wish I could get my $ back. The fretboard is not oriented per your view as a guitarist. That is, on the app, the 12th fret is on your left. If you were fretting in real life, the 12th fret would be to your right hand side. I actually feel the confusion that training on this app and then on my guitar creates. Developers please fix this. It’s a simple counter clockwise 180 degree flip of the fretboard.

I might’ve purchased the app or I might’ve even tried to play it longer but after selecting the first note I got a pop-up ad I mean come on let me at least play it for 10 minutes first
