The app is works great at detecting metal objects. You need to understand that the app is looking for the metal screws or nails used to hang Sheetrock not an actual wood stud. The nails or screws can be spaced a foot or more from each other so it might take a little searching to detect one.

Was hanging a tv wall mount and didn't have a stud finder my friend suggested and app found this one and it really does the job

Yes, precise, not necessarily accurate (if you're splitting hairs). The point is that it does EXACTLY what it says it does and it does it well, with minimal ads, with a cheap option to get rid of them. The reason I don't say "accurate", although it certainly is close, is because compared to dedicated magnetic EMF readers the numbers are a bit different, but these are iPhones, not dedicated machines! This app is unbelievably precise in the way that it is able to measure the relative magnetic field of various objects. The perfect stud finder, and as much as these iPhones can be, a half-decent general metal decor, too!

Could not find the studs in our apartment, and this actually worked!! Not completely accurate, but after testing where the magnet is on my phone we found it right away!
