Great customizable learning app

I found this app perfect for my beginning Chinese classes. After each class I can create a flash card for each new character, or even phrase. Most of the time typing a few letters of the pinyen and the characters become available the the flash card. I do wish there was more progress indications, also it would be nice to ha e app enforced (encouraged) progress. For example until two characters are mastered or after 50 characters are tested. Also a weighting system where characters that mastered appear less often. And what do the numbers at the top mean?

Terrible

The app is terrible because there only 1 lesson.

ZOMG

I would honestly be completely screwed in my Chinese class without this app. It's incredible.

Great App

Chinese learner must have this. Very helpful.

Very Impressed!

It's the perfect two-tool combo. A dictionary and flash cards. You hear a new word, look it up, and if you want to really learn it just add a flash card. Bazinga! Sure, it could have a few more features to it but honestly it gets the job done. Sync would be nice. More indication of progress toward learning or a way to see how well you know certain words would be nice. Great job!

Awesome app!

This is the best app I have seen for Chinese flashcards. You can select just the words you are studying instead of having pre-made decks of words that won't help you in class. I upgraded so that I could hear each word also ($9.99). For some reason it only works on my iPhone and not on the iPad (no speaker, won't play on the iPad, couldn't purchase the upgrade on the iPad.) Other than that I would give it 5 stars. Also, there is a feature where you can email your flashcards list which is fantastic. You can send your list to another iPod, or email it to a classmate who has the app. This will be a huge help for me and will reduce a lot of work trying to make flashcards.

Flashonary still supported?

Flashonary is the best flashcard app for learning Chinese, especially with its built-in dictionary. It is very easy to add new words to a deck, and the display options are perfect and easy to use. The audio pack ($10 US) is really worth it also. However I notice that the last version available is from 2011. Its not clear that there are active bug fixes occurring. Only 3 stars until I see that my bugs are fixed, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

This is great for students of Chinese

A busy teacher

I tried several other flashcards apps but this one is the easiest one to add new words by far. I wish it were easier to add phrases. Love it. Definitely worth using.

Very helpful

HiForMe

It's helpful but I wish that I can listen to how to pronounce each character for free

The best tool for learning Chinese

Also, the best flashcard app in general. I probably use this more than any other app on my phone. It makes it easy to study when you have a few odd minutes to kill. I also like to use it with a piece of scratch paper on the side to test that I can write the characters.
